Seriously? How did that happen? The main bearing tooling has been destroyed. These will never be made again new.

Main bearings were never a big failure part so I'm sure they got misplaced at some point. Who knows?Seriously? How did that happen?
My guess is the off set oil hole is just fine, but I’d like feedback from you guys
I agree that the “right” way to do it is file both sides to better center the oil hole and the bearing in general. My rational for filing one side was that if it were to be done for “production” purposes, a jig setup would be fairly easy to create so these things could be banged out quickly. But if folks are hand filing their own bearings on an as needed basis, I think for sure they should hitting both sidesI filed both sides to get the hole lined up. IDK if that matters much, a jig sounds way easier.
I took it for its first real spirited rip today and hit 7k rpm a few times, still hasn't exploded.
The jig doesn’t exist. My point is one could be made though fairly easy if only one side is being filed/ground. If filing both sides, a jig would be quite difficultIf you can, please share your jig for filing the tangs. That would be nice to be able to create repeatable filing and bearing placement.
Thanks,
Michael
To clarify, which bearings are these that you've settled on?
