Not what I meant at all. But did anyone spit in his face and say it cant be done and your numbers are made up? Of course they did.... Because SHOforum is full of naysayer douche's. :) I say that with love.

No one said his dyno numbers were made up.
Someone just noted that the tq numbers were not mathematically possible, therefore the hp numbers were skewed also.
Something with dyno input or operator error.

So quick little update. Spent a couple hours in the garage today. Started working on the heads and intake. Took a little longer then I thought it would and ended up spending 4 hours on 3 runners.

I had already lightly ported and polished these runners before but I decided to really hog these out for the RPM's this motor should see. I know with the cams the car ran out of breath over 6500 and this should help.

At the mouth of the runner (butterfly side) they are ported to 39mm and the head ports are gasket matched and ported a good bit.

Should be getting another set of BBB's that are gutted to go with these runners.

Mirror polished secondaries. 39mm ports. Gasket matched, Mirror polished to the injector, after injector is finished with a 80 grit for better fuel atomization.

And found more carnage on the heads. So now at this point im just going to go ahead and buy a new block and heads.

So as I suspected this motor had lots of detonation problems. Why? Im not sure. But I know the motor was being pulled of a lot of timing especially above 6000rpm

That damage looks *****. I think it might have taken some serious detonation issues to dislodge a chunk of debris large enough to cause those nicks and marring.

Quite frankly I have no idea how that engine still ran like it did. Given the abuse you've put this engine through I think it's testament to the durability of the yamaha v6.

I think something fell down in the cylinder.

The piston should look the same...

That is mechanical damage.
Something physically got into that cylinder.
Possible butterfly screw?

Also, this is the middle cylinder. Both cylinders that where scored and gouged were on the end. So this cylinder wall was perfectly true.

That cylinder ate something bad.

That is not from detonation.

If its not from detonation these sharp edges would get hot enough to cause preignition.

That is mechanical damage.

Possible butterfly screw?

All my butterfly screws are there. not sure what could have got in there
