Oh and you have an 18.6 gallon tank. There are one or two rubber hoses connecting the fill pipe to the tank that should be replaced.

Appreciate the responses. Got the fuel pump switched out, got the car started and moving under its own power, but the pump which I was hoping was the root of its poor running conditions was indeed not. Here is the post chronicling my current situation.

As for the parts, I’ve been checking eBay daily, I don’t have bookface but you’re right, that seems to be where most people sell stuff nowadays. There was a lot of stuff, basically everything he collected SHO related over his 20+ years of ownership. But the worst, was everything he gathered to repair the front end damage on the second car. All the headlights, marker lights, fog lights, nice set of tail lights, a “new” PCM, books and manuals, two new tires, the spare tire, header panel, the 24 valve fender badges, the bottom door and fender molding, random collection of extra parts and sensors… while not a million dollar loss it might as well be with the difficulty and time it would take to source everything again. Here’s a couple photos he sent me of some of the items.

So, its relative. DEPO and TYC are bottom of the barrel brands (the beam quality on their headlights is often sub par), on the other hand new old stock Ford SHO headlights are $200 each (saw one go for 300 several years ago). Car-part.com and hollanderparts.com are very useful, but most everything headlight wise is quite faded by now, but occasionally a gem shows up. Things like carbon fiber original SHOshop strut braces, DIS modules (for a time at least), and crank position sensors can sell for a premium over what they cost new. Sable headlights used to be avialable on Ebay, NOS, but last time I looked they were gone (need the fishtank inner headlight portion to match SHO). Am sure I have some NOS corner marker lights somewhere . .

Disagree with you on this. I think DEPOs are just a tad less as nice as OE if not equal to. I've had fitment issues with TYC in the past but DEPO are spot on. The bottom of the barrel brand is Eagle Eyes. They look good from the front but the build quality is lacking. All of these are pretty much unobtainium now so expect to pay $300-400 for a pair of Eagle Eyes. $500-600 for TYC and DEPO and OE are pretty much priceless.

When I redid the front of my 95 earlier this year I put new DEPOs on it and have no complaints at all. I have two sets of NOS Fords with Fishtanks boxed and sitting on the shelf right now and it would take an offer of at least $1000 for me to even think about letting a pair go.

Ouch! Can’t say blame you though. It’s the, if you don’t like my price find another set. I’ll be honest, not having them now is really making me consider parting out the smashed one. Which is a shame because minus the front end it’s a 100K mile clean rust free car with very presentable black leather interior and a freshly serviced engine. If I’m reading the receipts correct it just had the top and front 60 done and new clutch literally only hundreds of miles before the crash.

Given the trouble and expense I’m wondering if slapping on a SLO front end would work, just to get it back on the road.

By the way, I’ve drooled over your blue car for years now.

I have a Gen II spare front bumper. When my green 95 went to a local recycler before the pandemic the hood was the only thing that they sold. Look on Car-part.com see what is local to you.

And I might just have some Sable DEPO headlights near new have to look.
Let me know if you find them. I’ve searched junkyards within 500 miles of me for both sable and SHO. Found two, called to inquire, both crushed. Rust belt’s a bitch.

OK so I have a pair of what I think are serviceable headlights here that I suspect are Sable Gen 2 lights. Marked Ford on the lens. I will send you a PM.

On edit these are Sable OEM headlights that I bought in 2004 have been stored in a box in my space conditioned garage since then. They are in very nice shape pics to follow
