Well after popping another transmission and destroying a axle I decided to retire the blue turd for the winter. Planned on quite a few upgrades but then I decided if im going to do it I better do it right. So here is a little preview of what I have planned to push my N/A SHO to new heights.
So I started by pulling out everything.

Out with the old Southbend Stage II clutch

Ok, then I started disassembling the transmission. I destroyed 3rd/4th syncros and have been beating on it pretty hard even with zero syncro left. Here are the carnage pics.

Piece of syncro LOL

STL SHO ring welded diff. I love this diff with a passion.

Then I started tearing down the motor.

Then I discovered this. This is DEEP.

Now for the good stuff.
So now seeing that gouge it changed my decision to keep my 92mm bore. I spoke with wiseco over the phone the other day so I could get just a quote on some pistons. I have decided to go with a 12:1 compression forged piston with for a 93mm bore. The heads are getting completely disassembled, Going to port and polish the heads, remove all casting marks, bowls blended, intake ports finished to a 120grit, exhaust ports mirror polished and then assembled with new valve stem seals and SHOSHOP Stage II cams. The intake manifold will be hogged out and port matched to the heads. Gutting the secondaries and just leaving the 40mm housing since the car is never below 4000rpm.
Goals on race gas to make somewhere around 280-300whp. Then plan on putting all the power to the ground with 255/50/16 Sticky Micky's.
The weight of the car will also be a little less then before. Weight should be around 2620 pounds.
So I started by pulling out everything.
