Ill do them for you in the parking lot of our next track day.

:woo-hoo:

My neighbor offered me the use of his lift, so I'll probably just do them myself. I'll take the car to a friend of mine to remove and replace the exhaust studs first.

Thanks for all the advice! Next couple months I'll tackle it. Need to do the oil pan gasket anyway.

If you have access to a lift that is a real bonus! Just make sure you can block off enough time to drop the oil pan and let the oil drip off the crank and rods.

I'm sure I could. He only uses it for small repairs and oil changes.

Guy has a 1965 Mustang with all modern suspension, brakes, 5.0L motor, the works. Has a late 60's Cougar too!

He saw me crawling from under the SHO one day and just said "hey, next time throw it on my lift. Be easier."

Let me know when you plan on taking it to your friend to have the exhaust studs taken care of. I need to have mine done as well along with my SHOSource catless Y installed.

I know if I try to do it myself, it'll be just another case of "My SHO just owned me.....again"

Seems to happen to me all the friggin time.

You're SHO has an attitude problem. I found that out the other day!

I have a few people in mind that could do the work. I'll get prices from all of them and see what kind of deal we can get.

its cheap insurance in my opinion.

once the Y pipe is out its all downhill from there. especially here in AZ where the exhaust studs aren't so miserable.

My car has about 200K miles on it and has had Mobile 1 since 90K miles. I've been told that I should do them by some people and others have told me not to even think about it.

SO WTF?!?!

My car had ~175K, always on Mobil 1 since new, and the rod bearings were worn enough that I am glad I went ahead and did them. I recommend doing them.

For 175k those look pretty good! But rod bearings should be part of a 120k service. IMO
