I was gonna suggest filling the filter up... But what kind of **** should I use (I'm doing mine next weekend), and will the EGR gasket fit properly???

They sell a bearing **** just for that application I am sure. I know we got some with an engine rebuild kit a year and a half ago. I think it had clevite stamped on the bottle...(been a while) which would make sense since thats the brand of bearings we put in. :D

Permatex makes a product called Ultra Slick Engine Assembly ****. Looks red like tranny fluid but is much thicker. I believe it dissolves when oil touches it. Part# 81950 and it's a 4 oz. bottle which will be more than enough to do your rod bearings.

As far as using an EGR gasket for the oil pickup tube gasket it will need to be cut to size, as it's not a direct fit.

just get a piece of regular gasket material from any auto parts place and make your own oil pickup tube gasket. I tried the EGR gasket route and was less than impressed by the way it was going to work.
