Um, I don't know what Don has to do with the cheaters. Maybe I'm missing some back channels here, but all I see is Don proud of the car. Whether he knew of what they were going to do with it exactly or not, it's not his car anymore once he got paid.

Yea I'm the ass of the thread now after Don edited his original 1st post to exclude the part about larry telling him from the jump he was going to be racing SR-72 in some "special" racing events in Texas. Nice editing btw.

I'd kinda like to back off of all the bad talkin' of the Live Oak SHO, yes, we know it's a quick car, and we know it's Don's SR 72.

Keep in mind we plan on racing again, on the same tracks with many of the same teams. There has already been some bad blood in the past and I prefer not to have any enemies when we're all on the same track doing a relatively dangerous sport.

All the Lemons cars have to go thru the BS judging, and ultimately they get to decide who is cheating. If somebody with a cheater get's thru without any penalties, then so be it. It's the name of the game when racing in Lemons, and as Jay Lamm says, 'in lemons, everybody is cheating to some degree'.

When someone is obviously cheating to the point of ******* off all the teams, then they vote for the car to be crushed, like what happened to the spec racer miata's.

That's my $.02

Huh? I'm looking at the thread subscription notification in my e-mail for that post, and he didn't change anything I can see there...

In his For Sale thread, he did say:

HA ..... yes a gentleman from Texas bought it for $4000 ..... got the cashiers check today. He doesnt know SHO's but he has a group of guys that road race in some special texas event and they needed a safe track car with full roll cage ....this fit the bill

Is that what you're referring to? Or am I just lost?

Damn, they make y'all sit on the ground?

It was about 100 degrees outside, so we were happy to be in Air Conditioning. That was the first time I've ever seen them give out awards inside. Also Kelvin, If we make it to the Miami race in December, you'll have to come hang out.

Don't worry too much about it Don, you were just a little upset (as we all were) about how much cheat we saw. I certainly can't see holding anything against Don D. for selling a vehicle. Can't we all just say we're sorry, hold hands and sing kumbaya?

Nahh... That Sergio character taught me everything I know! Scary eh?

The early SHO and the CTS-V both had the M5 as a goal to reach. Maybe not to Ford's product planners, but to the buying public, I think it was a nice facsimile. 4 doors, a competent sedan and a manual transmission tend to attract like minds...

Yeah, I was surprised to see how many guys owned both, myself...

"Shocked"??

Why??

For many of us the SHO was a daily driver. I decided 6 years ago that a SHO is no longer suitable for that use. It's the old adage: when you are young with no $$$ you have time, when you are older with $$$, you have no time.

I no longer had time to "F" with an old car, when I had to rely on getting to the airport for consulting work.

Yes, I have two '89 SHOs. Neither are required for daily driving.

???

I have owned three Mustangs, two Z28s, two Corvettes, and various other Pontiacs, Oldsmobiles, Chevys, Chryslers (well, one 340 Duster), and an AMC AMX. Plus all of the SHOs and a 911 and now the LGT.

Don't get out much, do you??

Sounds like he nailed it right on the head.

You've owned both Camaros and Mustangs, and his point was that the two groups have quite a bit of overlap.

Or maybe I misunderstood...?

Folks forget how big the 5.0 Mustangs were from the early 80s into the mid 90s. Many Chevy guys came over. My two-Z28-owning buddy even had an '89 LX 5.0. After getting his ass kicked in his (very lame) '84 Z28, he said: "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em".
