Hello guys! I’m simply asking for comments/recommendations on different tuners! I currently have a 2013 PP SHO, Livernois sucked with it so I switched to GearHead and that seems a bit better and “smoother” shifting-wise.

I’m now selling my 2013 to grab a new model (2017+).

Just wondering if maybe others had Livernois issues but if I purchased a newer model it might not be as bad? Which tuner offers the smoothest shifting with the most HP and toque increase? And do all of them offer Auto-Octane (so I can run 91 when 93 isn’t available)?

So far I’ve only heard of LMS, GH, Unleashed and Ortiz. My gut is telling me to stay with GH, but just looking for what others have to say. I’ve heard Unleashed is good too.

Also. Does anyone use a flowmaster delta boost and is it worth it?

Just stay with Gearhead. One of the best and easiest and good customer support. Just stay away from LMS and Ortiz, they do to much damage with their careless tunes. Well documented on forums across different platforms. I do my best everytime it comes up to make sure others and new owners dont use them for their own safety

Dont use a delta boost, a proper tune will handle it. Pedal commander isnt good either but ive used it for autocross

2013 and up are mostly the same aside from pcv changes and interior changes.

AJP. More power than my gearhead tune (even the 93 tune), and he doesn’t do too much to the transmission. Shifts are sharp, but not overly firm. Not knocking the shifting on the GH tune, it’s great in my opinion, but if you find it to be too much (I feel like I remember other posts where you said you had to have them send you the “smoother shifting” tune…sorry if that wasn’t you), then AJP will be more what you’re looking for in that regard.

I have an '18 and my car seems to dig the GH tune (it went 11's full weight with mods below), I've heard good things about AJP as well, I'm sure you'd be happy with either one.

I had LMS on the first car I had. (Bought it that way) Quickly switched to GH AO tune. I then ran GH AO on my second car. Switched to Ortiz for a bit. I am in the process of getting my first AJP tune. Not impressed with some of the customer interactions I have seen out of Ortiz online. I guess I was lucky, they seemed helpful diagnosing issues with fueling on my vehicle (totally unrelated to the tune). I had a couple complaints with GH. They were strictly unique to my driving and as soon as I voiced them, he adjusted them and took care of them. (I drive country roads a lot. The shift point was at 40 mph. When in small towns and at the 40 mph speed limit, the car seemed to hunt for a gear with every dip/hill in the road.) AJP does not respond as fast as the others BUT, this is a side gig for him. I can't fault him for taking care of his existing customers and his day job first. I am excited from the things that I hear though.

No problems with my Ortiz tune. Lee always responded back to me quickly and helped solve an issue on a weekend. Just my two pennies.

If you're in ajp cue he takes care to the end. Imo best sho tunes you can get.he is not fast as. You are one on one.

Yep, I am in the cue. I am paid up, just waiting for my first base tune. Said last weekend or Monday. Figure I will hit him up again Monday to check-in. I know it is a side gig, so I usually try to give it about a week before I check in if I haven't received a response.

Love my AJP tune as well. You can get the tuning device from him too, I went with the LiveWire TS+. I just emailed him, told him what my goals were and what mods I had. This was my first experience with tuning a car so I had a lot questions. He made a few suggestions, sent me a base tune, detailed instructions on installing the tune and how to datalog, then I sent him the logs back and I had a revision within a week I think. We've been through a couple of revisions and my car is running absolutely great. I randomly have a question for him, sometimes not even related directly to the tune just about the car and Brad usually gets back to me in a couple days.

Great responses. So from what I’m seeing, AJP gives you more power than GH? Because I’ve had both LMS and GH, and I found that LMS have more power BUT the shifting was ruthless so I’m my opinion it’s not worth it.

I had Ortiz and it was alright, every tuner is gonna have some good and bad. He's a nice guy and you can always message him to see if it's a good fit for what you plan

I got my base tune from AJP loaded 2 days ago. The car felt great yesterday but, it was raining so didn't play too much. This morning it was dry. The car feels amazing! Much more of what I have been hoping for. Feels like it pulls harder, sooner. I am much more excited about the vehicle again and can't wait to get revisions and then an E30 tune!

Awesome, just know there is a night and day difference between the E30 and a 91/93 tune. Things are just getting started.

Starting to lean towards AJP then. Sounds like the way to go. By the way, not upset with GH by any means, the customer service was phenomenal and the tune is good but starting to think AJP probably has a bit more power. Just don’t want the shifting to be garb.

I have driven two GH tuned SHO's and to be honest, my AJP tune shifts just as good. I wouldn't worry about a thing.

Would you say there is more “power/torque” with the AJP as well?

Quick question to those with AJP… does he make it so that it shows your gear while in drive like Gearhead does? It doesn’t really matter, but it’s a nice little feature. I like seeing the 1, 2, 3 etc while in drive.
