Just open hood and dump wheel barrel of cash and close hood!
Heh, can I maybe get away with a pail of cash, or a brief case of cash? I think I might scratch something if I use a wheelbarrow... that's unacceptable...

In other news I already went over my initial budget. Gearhead performance package recieved, AD trans mounts, and ppe catted down pipes on order. That went quickly lol. So, I'm starting to think why stop now?

Well, since you already blew the budget, may as well go with the GH IC and XDI HPFP!

You really can't put a price on happiness, or beating cars 2x the price of your car from stoplight to stoplight, right?

Exactly! However, I am not Mr. Moneybags either lol. I was thinking gh ic and epp intake, along with a catch can. That's still quite a bit of benjamins. Bonus paycheck=bonus part lol

I would personally prioritize the HPFP over the intake, because you will get more HP's/TQ's from it, but the intake will give you the whoosh, whoosh noises.

There's definitely more to be gained from hpfp, but a significant price difference as well, like $1000 lol. If I do the rest, then I'll be sitting pretty for the hpfp as my next move. That was my thought process at least. Also, protecting health with lower temps, better wgdc, vapor protection e.t.c. Maybe I'm off in my priorities, and I'll gladly take feedback from anyone that thinks so.

Ok so you guys got me convinced on the hpfp before the cai. My question now is, will it be worth it to install a hpfp before my downpipes arrive? Backordered a good 6 weeks out still.

Yeah not worth the wait, put it in, get the tune for it and let 'er rip tater chip!

You won't be so sad about the long wait that way, and if you have ethanol around you, the e30 mix will really wake it up.

A big thank you to everyone here who had contributed to the conversation/ discussion! A second thank you for the pictures and videos. It's been very helpful in the decision making process and I've learned a lot from you all. The build is going well thus far. 3 weeks ago I got started with a GH tune along with the package goodies. Went well minus a map sensor in the wrong place which was a very easy correction lol. Also got my AD trans mounts in that same day. Yesterday, me a my buddy got the new GH intercooler swapped in. That went beautifully and woke up the car even more . I already have ppe catted down pipes ordered as well as a xdi35 hpfp on the way which are 4-5 weeks out yet and I am nearly drooling in anticipation! I also purchased a jlt catch can which I plan to install with a epp cai but have not yet recieved. Got it washed up yesterday so enjoy a couple pics guys!

Be careful, trips to the track are super addictive, especially if you start doing bracket races.

it never had much in it so i just took it off. i live in dry climate and its a 13 up.
I was considering doing this for the same reason. I had my car checked for boost leaks and the fittings were fine but it seems to be a worthless apparatus that could potentially leak.

Quick question as I wait for mine to arrive... are ppe catted downpipes 2.5" at the exiting side? As I look at cat back packages I see some are designed to line up to the stock 2.25" down pipes. Just wondering if I'll have to modify a bit upon purchasing one if so.

From What I can find on the various websites that carry them, it is mandrel bent 2.5” tubing.

Yeah all the sites seem to quote ppe's site directly on that spec, so I assume it's 2.5". From the images it looks like it doesn't reduce down, but nothing explicitly says so either. I was probably overthinking but if it's designed to be direct bolt on then you could assume it reduces though. I figured someone who had them from this group already could confirm one way or the other lol.

Just a guess but flanges and bolt holes could be the same. This would allow for a 2.5" downpipe and 2.25" exhaust. It would not be ideal for flow having that lip but would allow it to be a direct bolt in.

Yes they are 2.5 and the stock pipe at the 3rd cat is 2.25. when you see the bends from the stock down pipe you will understand.
