I just talked to Service at Herb Chamber's Ford in Braintree, and he said a valve adjustment on my 91mtx would cost aroud $800. $800!!! I cant belive that I'm not getting jacked. Is it really this expensive. The car needs it its at 100k, but im not hearing a noise on anything. Anyone know someone to do it cheap? Are those guys whack? Any input on the dreaded valve adjustment would be appreciated.

Yes that's high. The valve gap adjustment and spark plug replacement are 60,000 mile service items on the V6 SHO. And the title of this post should be, "stupid dealership service departments that don't have a clue about SHOs," rather than "stupid valves."
