Gave her a quick bath.

But more importantly, removed all the old adhesive from the previously positioned wheel weights on each rim, and cleaned up the brand new Nitto NT555 G2's today......

Not too shabby. I'm dig'n these new Nitto's.

Staggered set up......

255/45 ZR20's up front, on 8.5's.
275/40 ZR20's in rear, on 10's.

Yes, lowered on Megan Racing rollovers.

About 2 1/4" drop in rear. About 1 3/4" up front.

My splash-sheild was damaged by a rock on the freeway causing it to hang down. Needless to say, it got torn apart in the snow:


So I ordered a new one for around $100:



The new one did not come with the sound-dampening material that the old one had. And the old one seems to be made of fiberglass or some fibrous material. The new one is flimsier plastic.


And the screws that hold this thing on are stupid. First, the new one didn't come with the special screws, so I was lucky to still have the broken pieces of the old shield to retrieve the screws. The screws are ridiculous. They have some hard plastic cylinder around half the screw, and a hammer is the only way to separate them. Then to get them back together (around the new shielding) I used a vise. Sorry no pics of the screws. But they were designed by the kind of person that hates everything. They screw into metal retainer clips that are also stupid.

I later found out I could have gotten a metal skid-plate for an interceptor instead. Not sure if that replaces this, or if it would go over this. I think it would replace this. I wish I'd gone that route.

I just haphazardly purchased the first part I found when I searched. I'm normally smarter than that.

Got the car back from the local Ford dealer. PTU went out at 74k. 2300$ later she's back on the road. Replaced the halfshaft and the lower under shield as well while it was there. Cleaned it up as soon as I got it back.

Decided to pull the trigger on a new pair of LED projector puddle lamps the other day.

These to replace my original set that I gutted open way back in 2010, and authored a "How-To" tutorial on how to retro the LED into the housing.

I couldn't resist these, as the projector portion casts the FORD oval/logo onto the ground below it. Looks really sharp.

The things that are being done in the lighting department never cease to amaze me. Cool stuff.

Yes. There's an expandable tab on one side, that once inserted into the mirror housing it will 'snap or 'click' into place.

To remove from the mirror housing, just pinch that same tab together to extract the puddle lamp.

Glad you like. I do too. Like I said, sharp and always amazing to see the developments in lighting effects.

And...a question. Hows does the actual illumination compare to the originals? I never took notice of how bright, wide, etc the pattern is on the factory ones. (Haven't driven my car much yet...but with rain over the next two days the salt should be gone!!!)

Well, if you recall, the originals were dim, yellow colored halogens.

I gut them open, and retro-fitted my own LED's many, many years ago.

The light from this new product is bright, but it's more precise and/or crisp. Not an all over the place, non-descript light.

I would say they don't appear as bright as my formerly chosen LED's, but that's because the pattern is more defined and direct.

If that makes any sense??

Yes, that does make sense. Thanks. I got my SHO in December and have been waiting for the salt to be gone before it goes to daily driver status....so I don't know how bright the factory ones are....I just never noticed.

Well today was a busy day for my SHO.

Started with changing out the puddle lamps (see/refer earlier post from this morning).

Performed an oil change and in doing so, noticed I had two small meth leaks. Christ's sake.

One leak was on the OEM Washer Reservoir. The low tank sensor grommet degrades over time. So off with that piece, drain all the meth, then slap a new grommet in place, clean up the old sealant, then re-install and re-seal.

The 2nd leak was on the pump itself. Pretty common place. If you recall I learned back in Summer of 2014, that ALL METH PUMPS (regardless of the mfg'er) have a life span. Typically 2.5-3yrs.

At that time (Summer of 2014) I replaced that pump with a new one, then had my original pump from 2011, sent back to Alky Controls for rebuild.

So I got 3yrs out of the 1st pump, and almost 4yrs out of the second pump.

I'll send the 2014 new pump in for rebuild, and will feel confident that the current one will last another 3yrs.

But WHEW. Good Lord. My lower back is starting to feel it after having spent so much personal, intimate time with the SHO today.

No spring chicken anymore, lemme tell 'ya.
