Thanks man. The front is done. I tried to get it as close to stock ride height as possible and ended up dropping it only 1/4". I'm pretty happy with that. I'm guessing the factory shocks were so worn out, it lowered itself because these coilovers are supposed to be lower than stock at full ride height. My initial adjustments raised it an inch.

After I finish the back, I may adjust the front down a little more. I just want it to be drivable without bottoming out on every driveway. I played with the dampening settings and I really like that. Bouncing the front end manually, I can tell a huge difference from the softest and hardest settings. I'm sure I'll find a setting that I prefer when it's finished. That was my main goal for this project.

Today, I filled the transmission fluid and had a really close call. With the front wheels back on, I did the normal procedures for fresh tranny fluid (run through each gear to work the fluid in), but I forgot the normal procedures for installing new brake pads. So....while it was backed into my garage, with my foot on the brake, I clicked it to R and the car proceeded to reverse. Luckily I put it back in P before it did much damage. I only hit my dogs' food/water bowls. I won't forget that again!

So, with the brakes pumped, I did the normal stuff for the tranny and filled it. I noticed a metal grinding noise from the front right wheel. I think the old pads have damaged the rotor. I tried to remove the brake caliper so I can have it machined, but somebody gave it too many uggas. I can't get it off with a socket wrench or my impact. So I hit them with PB Blaster. Hopefully they'll come loose later tonight.

While the air box is off, why not clean the air filter? And the only thing left to do is coolant and RDU. I'll do the RDU when the back is lifted, so I drained the coolant and realized I only have 3 quarts of yellow Motorcraft left. I'll grab more coolant tomorrow and burp / fill it. I'm tired. That's enough for this weekend. This car better run like new when I'm finished!

There is a small bolt holding the rotor to the axel. Did you remove it?

Damn, dude. That's how I felt when I did my suspension... walk away and give yourself a day or two and you'll be back on it before you know it.

Mine rides and brakes quite well for its age... but given the amount of money dumped into the brakes and suspension it better.

I did walk away and give myself some time to research. And I think my brake problem isn't the brakes / rotors at all. It looks like I accidentally bent the back plate in where it was barely touching the rotor. I still have the front end up and wheels off, so I spun the rotors by hand and they had a rubbing noise. I pushed the back guard outwards some all the way around and spun the rotor again. No rub. I won't know for sure until I drop and drive it again, but I think that was my issue.

Arguably one of the Quickest, Cheapest, and most rewarding upgrades I have made to the car lol. I dont know if the newer versions were different but if you own a 2010 likely through 2012 you might know what you are SEEING here

Recently got rid of the chrome, and added the hot pipes to go with the noisemaker delete. 3M gloss black vinyl wrap on the trim, but the grill is painted. I left the letters on the fender badges chrome at first, but over time I liked it less and less until it had to go, so I ended up painting those also.

Looks so much better to me. I’d never messed with vinyl wrap before, so it’s far from perfect, but I learned some things and expect better results when it inevitably needs redone.

The way it should have come from the factory.

Thanks man, and already got some on the way. I went with the lighter “smoked” look since I’m also doing the headlights after a restore. Figure I can always go darker on the tail lights if I want to
When I owned a SHO, I had my tail lights professionally painted to make it look smoked. It really came out amazing. Semper Fi.
