Haha gotcha. Well I've spent worse things on cars than a new battery before an Alaskan winter. I know this car sat almost a whole year before I bought it so I'll swap her out when I get home.

Downpipes arrive in mail either today or tomorrow. Now you got me worried about installing GH intercooler with it not being hot here
Extreme cold kills batteries. Extreme heat kills batteries..........you have the cold covered, I have the heat covered.

Bought a battery. That didn't work. Had a crazy idea where I used the fob to do the open all windows and roof thing...that worked. Only problem was that the window didn't come back up. Tried a universal close with fob but that didn't work. #whoops.

Spent the rest of the day swapping out fuses just in case and no luck. I tore the dang door apart and had so much trouble with stripped out screws to get the interior paneling off passenger side it was ridiculous. Got that far just to not be able to get to the wires to the motor to try and manually get them up. I am away at work with limited tools and time and had to call it a night. This car just stumped me

Pulled back the car door accordion boots and saw nothing there. Removed the switches and didn't see anything crazy there. Used as cleaner in the hopes that I could get it to work long enough to raise but no luck. Can't get to motor wiring and wasn't about to get to what ami needed to try and manually pull it up the track.

Super frustrating. This car is an absolute blast but just a ton of little things I've been having to address is starting to get to me

I agree with everything except inexpensive the side factory mirror is stupid expensive
Lol I guess that can be true. I pulled the trigger on a whole mirror assembly from eBay for like 65$ shipped and wasn't mad about it. Figured it was important because I cant see anything out of the back with my broken sunshade half down so the mirror was a huge bang for my buck with visibility.

I had some issues with my backup camera sometimes working sometimes not. So I swapped in my original one and volia! It works flawlessly.
Next i tackled my trunk lid not closing when id have to slam it to get it to close. I adjusted the striker and it closes. Next was adjusting the entire decklid reerward and to the left some. I got it as best as I could without it rubbing against anything. I have some pics to show what it looks like. Next will be if it seals properly. We'll see, as i also have to take care of the sunroof drains that are either clogged up or are disconnected. But i think it looks alot better and has an even shut line along the bottom. The last thing is re working that 3rd brake light. Im gonna go to the salvage yard next weekend and get one off a 2014 taurus and mount it up. I evidently saved the original glass mounting clips for it. Im going to take this one down and disconnect it and install the "correct" one. I have to find a very strong adhesive foam NOT the 3M tape I used as its starting to unglue and fall down but just alittle bit.

Glad to see her back on the road!
Feels even better, I love my truck but its not the car. She has to go back next week, they managed to miss a spot when they blended the paint and the hood is out of alignment. Any other car I probably wouldn't care but I want it right. Then I get to dig in with the pile of parts I've been collecting

After 2 years of wanting gauges, a year and a half of designing gauge pods, and a year of selling them, I finally made myself a pod and loaded it with gauges. After a few adapter mishaps and swapping parts around everything is in and working. So happy with how this came out and finally being able to monitor the 3 systems I worry about most.20251025 110549

Was getting a P0151 code, so I replaced the O2 sensor corresponding to that. Perhaps it's a placebo effect, but the car SEEMS to be driving smoother.
Total cost at a local shop I trust, was 382 bucks (about 300 US?).

Next up is to address the passenger side mirror which is not adjusting.

I watched all of these YouTube videos where guys installed coilovers "in a few hours" in their driveway. I started on these last Sunday. I didn't work any during the week (work kicked my butt) but I've worked on them all day today. Now, I did have the axle issue and ended up changing the PTU fluid because of it. Then I realized it wasn't the PTU, so I drained it. Amazon will deliver some in the morning so I can fill it back up. Both were due anyway. And I also installed some new front brakes (and pins on the passenger side). It had been developing a slight scratch so I made a point to check them when I had the wheels off. Turns out the guy I've been paying to do brakes has never lubed them and the pin had seized.

So pretty much, I've worked on this suspension for 2 full days (or just less if you count other things)......and I'll finish the front end tonight. I haven't even touched the rear yet.

Admittedly, this is my first time doing any suspension work and I had no idea what I was doing when I started. And I ran into sway bar link clearance issues. My wife has reminded me a dozen times that I should have just paid a guy to do this and I've reminded her about the brakes. You can't trust people to do anything right these days.

Swapping the suspension out on the 2010 was a huge pain in the butt. Not because it was a hard job but because a number of small things popped up throughout the repairs... ugh... keep pushing my man.

Thanks man. The front is done. I tried to get it as close to stock ride height as possible and ended up dropping it only 1/4". I'm pretty happy with that. I'm guessing the factory shocks were so worn out, it lowered itself because these coilovers are supposed to be lower than stock at full ride height. My initial adjustments raised it an inch.

After I finish the back, I may adjust the front down a little more. I just want it to be drivable without bottoming out on every driveway. I played with the dampening settings and I really like that. Bouncing the front end manually, I can tell a huge difference from the softest and hardest settings. I'm sure I'll find a setting that I prefer when it's finished. That was my main goal for this project.

Today, I filled the transmission fluid and had a really close call. With the front wheels back on, I did the normal procedures for fresh tranny fluid (run through each gear to work the fluid in), but I forgot the normal procedures for installing new brake pads. So....while it was backed into my garage, with my foot on the brake, I clicked it to R and the car proceeded to reverse. Luckily I put it back in P before it did much damage. I only hit my dogs' food/water bowls. I won't forget that again!

So, with the brakes pumped, I did the normal stuff for the tranny and filled it. I noticed a metal grinding noise from the front right wheel. I think the old pads have damaged the rotor. I tried to remove the brake caliper so I can have it machined, but somebody gave it too many uggas. I can't get it off with a socket wrench or my impact. So I hit them with PB Blaster. Hopefully they'll come loose later tonight.

While the air box is off, why not clean the air filter? And the only thing left to do is coolant and RDU. I'll do the RDU when the back is lifted, so I drained the coolant and realized I only have 3 quarts of yellow Motorcraft left. I'll grab more coolant tomorrow and burp / fill it. I'm tired. That's enough for this weekend. This car better run like new when I'm finished!
