Ok I am changing my rod bearings as there is a ticking noise from the underside of the car and it seems like insurance work anyway. Well I was curious on what parts i need exactly to do the job and how hard the job really is to do and what trouble or bumps i might hit in getting to or changing the bearings thanks.

You can get the bearings from Napa for pretty cheap. You will also need to get the oil pan gaskets, assembly ****, and rtv for the rest of the oil pan.

Also might want a can of pb plaster.I would soak the ypipe bolts for a few days before you try and take that off. That is usually that main problem with doing that job,if the ypipe has not been off in a while. Its a pretty easy job, just make sure you get all the right specs for the bearings and oil pan.Good Luck

Don't forget your trusty torque wrench :thumb: I'm not sure how hard it is with the engine in, but the actual bearing replacement isn't all that bad, just gotta be patient when getting in those top bearings.

Hey guys, he has an 89, he needs the donut gasket for the exhaust, not the flex pipe gasket...that is unless he wants to upgrade to the flexpipe
