At 135K, is the rod bearing change out required, or just a good idea, when I do the oil pan gasket ? How much are the bearings ? What brand is best ? How hard are they to replace ?

For $66.99 you can have a rod bearing kit shipped to your door from RCM. The kit includes all 6 sets of rod bearings, oil pan end gaskets w/rtv, and oil pickup tube gasket.

You be the decision on replacing them, there have been SHO's which spun bearings with less mile than you have and some that have went way over the miles you have and never had the problem, but they were taken care of with regular oil changes. Anyhow, they still changed them.

Not much when replacing them: http://www.kurtmetros.com/bearings.html

JohmW63 - My SHO has 173k on her and I still haven't done the rod bearings job. Although, I'm thinking I should like, real soon.
