So I went to do an oil change on my 2012 sho and the oil pan threads are stripped. I was thinking of tapping new threads but I’ve heard that if the metal shavings get in then my whole engine is ruined. So I looked into getting a new oil pan and it says that it’s about a 9 HOUR JOB! Idk what to do. Should I get one of those oversized drain plug savers, tap the new thread, or spend a bunch of money trying to get the oil pan in?

I also load the tap with grease to help capture the metal bits. But the plug points down so you have gravity working for you. The metal won't "fall into" the engine.
