Has a bearing spun? If not, the standard size should be correct.

You only need undersized bearings if you have had the crank machined due to damage.

Go to RCMAutomotive.com or SHOSource.com. They have the Standard size bearings. You'll only need undersized bearings if you have had your crank turned...

Well, crap...You beat me to it. :)

Just barely :)

If you haven't read it already, here's the procedure from the SHO Phoenix project: http://www.shophoenixproject.com/rodbearings/rodbearings.htm

Read it, then read it again. Good stuff.

You're going to need bearings, a pan seal kit (front, rear and some RTV) and an oil pickup gasket. The pickup gasket is pretty much impossible to find by itself from a normal parts store, but Shosource makes their own now.

About $73 for all the parts to do it right, plus tools and time.

Either shosource.com or rcmautomotive.com can get you the stuff you need. Ive done business with both with no troubles.

I'm actually swapping bearings on my black '89 this Sunday. Then a fuel pump and some rear suspension work as the week progresses. If I'm lucky I'll get to that cam seal and my new valve cover grommets sometime soon, too. It's odd having a backlog of parts and no time, as it's usually the opposite.

RCM automotive has a kit with everything you need for a fair price. When I priced bearings at NAPA they were special order and expensive delivered. SHOsource has them also. See who has the best deal including shipping.
