So how does the v-8 mtx keep up with the gen 2?

It all depends on mods, but I'd say they're about even with the V6 MTX, if not a little faster. I know that Matt Runyon (96blacksho) beat my personal best at New England Dragway by like 0.03 seconds last year with his V8 MTX, so we're pretty close. In a drag race, it would all depend on the launch. From a roll... I haven't tried, so I don't know.

Damn this is place is turning into fvcktard central! The 3.4 is a DURATEC bolt pattern,if you hear the word duratec that MEANS mazda(exception is when ford renamed everything duraterc as in like the old zetec and such)Guess what 3.0 n 3.2s are vulcan bolt patterns ,totally different!

Also a little reader comprehension would be nice,or has everyone turn into spazz monkeys?

sorry, but duratecs...the real duratecs(95-99 contour 2.5,taurus,sable,escape,etc 3.0) are def'n NOT mazda's. they were a ford/cosworth design.

^^^Thank you ,I stand corrected! I was speaking of the Mazda Duratec AJ motor ,but upon further investigation I see that it was based on the 2.5 mondeo duratec design :salute:

Just for clarification I had buddy make the original post and he got the mazda 6 tyrannies mixed up, i was talking about the mazda 6's 5 -speed mtx. For all the idots with negative comments don't respond to my post then and who ever said use the search function u can take that pos and shove it up your
a@@.

Im sorry but unlike you i can't sit around all day in my mom's basement and ******** to sho forums all day i have a life.:snicker: And the sho motor has been hooked up to other transmissions so i don't know why everybody's acting like omg the sho engine has not ever been known to been mated to another transmission, it will be the end of the world. This kids is why the world is so ****** up because idiots like these people.

Did you even look at the gear ratios of the G35M-R? Very close to the MTX-IV that is already in the car. Let's say you do acquire a G35M-R, average price of a good used unit at the moment is around $850. Then get a Clutch Masters clutch, $499. Have a Duratec to Vulcan bellhousing adapter designed and machined, we will say $400.

So you just spent $1,749 and what did you gain? From the gear ratios, you gained nothing in 0 to 60 MPH time, you dropped 0.1 seconds off the 1/4 mile time and top speed improved by 2 MPH.

Clearly you failed school and need to go back. Reading comprehension ftl.

Write something comprehensible, then come back and make this argument.

Just for clarification I had buddy make the original post and he got the mazda 6 tyrannies mixed up

I hate when buddy mixes up tyrannies.

For all the idots with negative comments don't respond to my post then and who ever said use the search function u can take that pos and shove it up your
a@@.

Perhaps if what you were searching for was comprehensible, you'd have better luck.

Im sorry but unlike you i can't sit around all day in my mom's basement and ******** to sho forums all day i have a life.

Clearly. But, perhaps once your ESL classes are finished, you'll have more time to research subjects like this, and figure out how to do your own transmission swap. While we'd love to give you all the technical information you need, and most likely do the project for you, most of us are too busy cleaning your mom's basement.

And the sho motor has been hooked up to other transmissions so i don't know why everybody's acting like omg the sho engine has not ever been known to been mated to another transmission, it will be the end of the world.

Yes, it has. By people that had the mechanical ability, and gained knowledge through research, and invested time and money into the project. I don't see any comments in this thread that pertain to your comment above. Reedang kompreyhenshun ftl omg.

This kids is why the world is so ****** up because idiots like these people.

We all have opinions. My opinion on the matter is that the world is ****** up because the federal government micromanages safety so people like you don't impale themselves with a cup of hot coffee. Take away the mandates, and the world will become a smarter place.

I was thinking from more of a reliability stand point because i always see on here people who have big power and have the diff welded still breaking transmissions and people on here advising them not to beat on the trans. Wow lol at bob, its gonna be ok little man.

Well Zach you were asked to clean up your language and asked to clean up your posts, your little message you left me was really nice. Take a few days off and when you can return and act like a big boy we will be waiting. I'm tired of seeing stuff like that here, apparently you think you can do whatever you want because you have sort of grown up a little.

let this be a warning to the rest of the ***** mouths, I can tolerate a little obscene language but comments like what are in this thread are uncalled for and will stop...

End of rant....

I'm still confused as to why this thread is still going at ALL! The question was asked several years ago when the Mazda 6 came out and if the search function had been used all of this madness could've been avoided.

http://www.shoforum.com/showthread.php?t=79481&highlight=mazda+transmission

http://www.shoforum.com/showthread.php?t=102891&highlight=mazda+transmission

http://www.shoforum.com/showthread.php?t=102826&highlight=mazda+transmission

http://www.shoforum.com/showthread.php?t=94584&highlight=mazda+transmission

THAT would've been a great way to moderate instead of jumping the gun on petty language that could've been edited.

I know there's moderation and you have to do your job but there have been worse things said on...but it is what it is.

Well sorry if I don't like people using the terms "faggetry" and making "*** ****" comments on our forum. He had his chance to edit his post, he chose not to and making comments that he'll do as he pleases doesn't fly with me. And where does it stop do we wait till there are references to Jewish people or black people? Sorry but that behavior has NO place here nor will it ever!

My comment was not aimed at you. Sorry if it came off that way. I edited my post for clarity.

Damn I'll be glad when all you crabby bishes get some warm weather... Ya'lls be depressing me with all this sniping.

And I'll agree the comments were bad form...

All I was stating was that if the search function had been used all of this could've been avoided, plain and simple. I not arguing whether it was right or wrong to use the terminology that was used because I mySELF don't condone that sort of language but when the words were thrown at me here on the forum no one said a thing, no one was banned, no one was even warned...actually it was taken as a really big laugh by other forum members..hmm. Point is treat all the same! When the words were thrown at me and I saw that nothing was done about it I took my concerns to the individual in PM form and warned them if they called me a "******" or anything else I would report them and we'd go from there.

I'm not calling your job as a moderator into effect because someone saw you as worthy enough to make mod but everyone has to be treated the same.

Had I seen that happen to anyone here I would have done the same, shame that happened to you and my apologize for others behavior if it means anything coming from me. I treat everyone the same, and hope this doesn't occur again. Had I seen that happen to you I would have banned them until a formal apology was sent to you and the forum, you can count on that.

Sad to see a good thread go bad, Sorry for not seeing this soon enough. I deleted a pile of posts here, some I really didn't want to but were quoted and wouldn't make any since if I left them there. So in the future there will be no personal attacks on this forum. And if you want to do mindless non tech discussions we have a place for that!
I will be forced to hand out some infractions or bans the next time I see this going on again.
