I honestly have no clue on the bolt pattern between the 3.4 and 3.0/3.2's. But I would expect you would have to do something with the shifter and the subframe to get it to work not to mention custom CV axles.

The late 1st gen and 2nd gen Mazda6 used a 6-spd automatic, it was either Aisin or Jatco, can't remember which exactly, but it did have a "sport shift" manual gear selection. They were used with the 3.0L Duratec in the traditional FWD layout. So the bolt pattern is the same as the Taurus, but the transmission controls were embedded in the PCM, which was CAN-oriented. Wiring would be a nightmare and close to near impossible to integrate.

Mazda 6 transmission uses the Duratec bolt pattern, the only SHO that uses the Duratec bolt pattern is the V8.

HMMMMM so a MT needs to be controlled by the ecu?? That doesn't seem right I will have to ask my brother on this one he is a big mazda guy. But spinning the engine 180* would be a bit of a pain.

The trans can be adapted but it interferes with the inner frame. also the axles are very difficult to integrate.

Won't work with the v6, would take more time/money/fabrication than you'd care to mate it to the v8.

Damn this is place is turning into fvcktard central! The 3.4 is a DURATEC bolt pattern,if you hear the word duratec that MEANS mazda(exception is when ford renamed everything duraterc as in like the old zetec and such)Guess what 3.0 n 3.2s are vulcan bolt patterns ,totally different!

Also a little reader comprehension would be nice,or has everyone turn into spazz monkeys?

I havent had any issues with our current trans and I am not exactly nice to it.....and a Wavetrac/Quaife would probably be alot less expensive than this route. I would say if you were gonna go through all this trouble you might as well make it RWD.

I just wish that our trans parts were still available.
