Tom, what time you want to start on the 95? Are you pulling the subframe only or the tranny also?

Chris,

How about 9 AM? I should have everything disconnected by Friday night.

II want to pull the subframe with tranny and motor attached. I'll be doing the front and upper 60 k on it along with replacing the tranny and new powdercoated intake and valve covers.
I have a large rolling pallet that I will mount the subframe to so that I can work on it sitting down.

Doodz,

If it turns out that you guys are bored by the afternoon, there will be two races in the mid-afternoon at PIR, I think the USTCC is the second race. The schedule is usually available through a link at

http://www.nasaarizona.com/?page=calendar

It looks like doube-apex gave up on trying to fix their server, so the schedule is now up on the nasaarizona site which can still be accessed using this link.

2 weeks before I found this wonderful forum, my A/C compressor took a dump on me, siezed up and burnt up the accesory belt. 1 new A/C compressor and accessory belt later, I was missing $1080 from my bank account. This was all at my local friendly Ford dealership WITH a 10% discount. And then I found SHO forum and lived happily ever after. The End.

The compressor, dryer, etc., from the Pumpkin are at Tom's. You could ask him if he wants to sell 'em...

How about 100.00 for the AZ SHO Club and 10.00 for Bizzy? It probably only has about 9,000 miles on it, though most of those will be sideways miles.

I'm kind of busy and don't know much about AC Systems anyway, so you're welcome to use my shop and tools and do it yourself. I be here this afternoon helping someone else and on Sunday working on my car if no one else needs help. Stop on by.

I took it out of the Pumpkin, but that's not hard.

What is available from the Pumpkin is the compressor and the plumbing with the dryer. The condenser is spoken for already.

Tom,

I won't be able to make this weekend. I got some free tickets to Indianapolis with my dad and I can't pass them up. I do know Chris and I will be driving out there soon.

Never heard of bacteria in the a/c before. It's not unusual to find mold on the evaporator, which could be cured with a good shot of Lysol, but that's pretty rare in AZ.

BTW, the Pumpkin is a 94 ATX, so the plumbing won't fit an MTX. I _think_ the compressor is the same but you might want to double check that.

I don't know about this bacteria thing...sounds kind of...made-up. I would think that if you swapped your compressor, then had the system fully flushed with dry nitrogen, you would be A-OK. I have some A/C training, but no tools to flush/evacuate or recharge. One word of advice....stay away from the "quick charges" or "R-134 conversion kit" from Walmart, Autozone etc. Also, you car is more than likey R-12...you can get this stuff, but it is expensive. Buy the compressor, install, have a competent A/C shop (there are lots in PHX) evac and recharge your system. I know money does not grow on trees...but you'll save money in the long run from drinking and shower water

Well, I have a compressor or two arround here if that's all you want.

Jason, sorry to hear you won't make it. Maybe soon eh?

We got JesseMachOne's bearings done last night, so if no one else needs bearings done on Sunday, I will start on the removal of the subframe, engine and tranny on my ATX. Anyone that can come out to help would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, Mitzi will be up in Stanton helping her mother, so it will be pizza and beer only guys. :frown:

I could be talked out of the condenser...probably for what I have in it;nada.

I have a guy in Mesa that can do the install, and charge with R134. We had to have a new hose fabbed )Leaking through the hose, and the hoses are discontinued). Two Franklins for Labor and material, and the hose was $75.of that.
