Would the AZ SHO Club guys like to have a get together out at Dooleyville for a rod bearing fest? I promised Jessemachone that I would help him do his and I think someone else wanted to do theirs also. I have that Sunday available, and I think we could do 2 in a long day if we had a group of people.

Wadda you guys think?

I'll be at PIR that day with the Pumpkin. That's the same day as the USTCC race, btw.

I haven't got a call from Don Brabec so I figured I help out a couple of the local guys. If no one needs their bearings done we could always go and watch and support the great pumpkin. I'll be needing a break after Saturday.

Tom, If you want an ATX rebuilt I can do it out at your place that weekend. You would need to buy a softparts rebuild kit, a rebuild guide with the clearance specs, a shift kit, and an updated forward clutch piston. I would also need a dial indicator (i'm sure you have one of those) and a good chunk of work space. My services would come cheap. All said and done you would be looking about $500 for a full on shiftkit rebuild.

But either way, I'm in on attendance...Dooleyville or PIR

Chris,

Thanks for the great offer and I will take you up on that, but right now I can't spend the money. I need to get the rare green 93 ATX running better so that I can take apart the 95 ATX car and do a lot of stuff to it; upper and front 60K, waterpump, cps, and tranny change out.

If I don't end up helping anyone out on their rod bearings, I could sure use some help getting the subframe out of the 95.

Of course I have a dial indicator.

Tom, I'm happy to help when you need anything. If that's something that can be done late afternoon on Saturday I'll be up there to get the Pumpkin, anyway. Otherwise I can be there whenever, for the most part.

..except the 22nd... ;)

I'm gonna be in Vegas that weekend. I want my bearings done just for saftey sake, no noise yet but I would rather be safe than sorry. I will have to catch you guys for that at the next meet. I don't trust myself on that one yet.

My tokicos/eibachs are going in sometime between june 6th and the 13th along with valve cover gaskets, plug well seals, ASFB's, full intake cleaning and anything else I can think of between now and then. Maybe some BBB's if I can find a cheap set or painted valve covers and intake. The Mrs's is going out of town and I will have a second vehical in case anything takes longer than anticipated which with car repairs it always does. I might have to take Mike's advise and toss my stuff in the dishwasher while she's gone

A BELIEVER IN OUR MIDST!!

Go for it dude...note its all in the pre treatment. I used the dishwasher as a later step prior to painting. I wouldnt snatch the intake off the car then toss in your washer though with that 1/4 inch of sandy sludge, as that would lead to an immediate separation followed by imminent divorce from the Mrs. ..its those other nooks and crannys after the initial berrymans clean out.

Chris,

Where would I go about finding these? At the Ford Dealer?

Transtar here in town has the parts. You can check them online and download a PDF file that has everything in it...an easier way is to call them and say "I need a complete softparts rebuild kit and foward clutch piston for a 95 SHO". These guys really know what they are doing, and will actually know what a SHO is, and the difference between its ATX and the SLO's ATX.

Also since there seems to be a plethora of ATX's around your place, I doubt we would have any problems with hardparts...we can always scavenge.

Cool, I'll call them when I get time and money. I have Mike's old atx from his 93 that was supposedly rebuilt and I've had it dyno tested at Phx Hard Parts on 99th Ave. The other ATX is out of Eric's Pumpkin and yours is still here also right? Okay, I guess that is a plethora.

Looking forward to seeing everybody again.

Bummer, I have to work. I might stop by for a little meet and greet. I still have to do my bearings. I won't be off on the weekend for a couple of more weeks. I also have some more popping noises in the front end that I'd like to try to fix.... I guess I should stop off roading in the SHO!

Mike,
Cool. And how about 10.00 for the sensor and 10.00 for Bizzy? If that's too high, just 10 for Bizzy would be fine with me.

Doodz,

If it turns out that you guys are bored by the afternoon, there will be two races in the mid-afternoon at PIR, I think the USTCC is the second race. The schedule is usually available through a link at

http://www.nasaarizona.com/?page=calendar

The server with the schedule file seems to be down at the moment, but the page with this link is still live.

The last HPDE4 session is scheduled for just after 4pm, after the races, so if you can make it for the races there'll still be one more session to flog the Pumpkin.

I'm hopin' there's time to make it out.

Chris, I'll be up to Tom's on Saturday to do a little work on the Pumpkin (bleed the brakes, change tires, little stuff like that) and load it up for Sunday. If you do wind up doing an ATX rebuild I can certainly help then, assuming that you want to start then and it's okay with the landlord, etc.

Eric,

Chris and I have decided we are coming out in the fall (whenever racing season starts again there) and we'll bring our cars out. We'd like to track our cars with you!

That'd be very cool! By then I should have the coilovers on the Pumpkin, interior stripped, etc. In other words, it should be pretty quick by then. :dribble:

We'll keep an eye on the fall schedule and see what works out. I think you guys would like driving PIR better than Firebird or AMP, it's more suited for a SHO (fast corners). They're all fun, though.

I won't be here but you're welcome to do whatever you need. My mothers memorial service is on Saturday.

That would be kind of cool though, heading out to watch you flog the pumpkin after I get this subframe out of the 95. If we could get a lot of the AZ SHO guys to come out, they'd think there was some kind of secret society or something.
