Main bearing install-need help ASAP

Ok im doing rod and main bearing install on my 90 SHO and i have the rods and all but one main done. All have been easy except for the #1 main. The top half was hard to get out. I dont know how i am going to get the new one in...anyone done a complete main bearing install in the car?

i havnt taken the belts off yet..ill try that tomorrow but im thinking its not going to be enough

any help appreciated

Remove the belts, loosen #2 and #3 main progressively meaning loosen #2 more than #3. Do not remove or loosen them all the way. Also, do not loosen or remove the last one. You will develope oil leaks from the rear main.

Just loosen them as little as possible as to gett he top of #1 installed. You don't want to put any more pressure on the front oil seal either.
