aluminum radiators on ebay

Chad - Did you buy the Worley one? I'm looking to put a new one on my 95 MTX? I was looking at the other ones and they imply 94-95' models are different than 89-93'. When I search O'Rielly's and Napa, 89-95' are all the same for MTX's. Must be a typo on Worley's and the others offering the aluminum radiators on ebay. Put it in and let me know how it fits. I gotta have one. Thanks.

These are still available on Ebay. "Taurus Aluminum Radiator". I just ordered one today for $120 shipped.

It looks like a typo in the listing. I think what they do is go by what Ebay says is the compatible model and Ebays system has always been inaccurate. I looked on Rockauto before i bought and it says that all MTX SHOs call for the same radiator. The Worley one is the one i got.

No, mine is an all-aluminum radiator from Genesis. I don't see them listed on the site now. I'd bet those radiators on eBay are the same.

Looks like they are or are really close. I've probably spent about half the cost between stop leak and rad fluid just to last until I could get the radiator replaced. I'm definitely going to do an engine flush when I do the change, as well as flush the radiator. Will search the threads on a good way to flush. Want to get as much crap out as possible.

Thats the same one i've got. Its built great. Very high quality. Went in with zero issues. If you need a radiator grab this one if you can. There are several listed on ebay but the one i got was $120 shipped.

Sweet, Did you have to modify the fan shroud to get it to fit like I seen with the others? I figured I couldnt go too wrong for 120 and free shipping.

No, i think that is what seperates these from the Genesis ones or maybe the fan shroud is different in a Gen1 vs. a Gen2?? The one i received was a complete bolt in replacement. I did not have to modify anything, but i did have to find a different bolt to use to mount the fan shroud.

On the factory radiator there is a bolt/nut that mounts the shroud right below the return hose. On the new radiator there is a mounting hole built into the rad. and its a different thread pitch than the old bolt. If you keep old bolts lying around like most people it wont be a big deal. I took my time doing it and spread it out over an afternoon(did an oil change and touched up some paint at the same time), but it could easily be done in an hour if you hustle.

Another quick tip, you will need to remove and diconnect a bunch of stuff to get the room to pull the shroud and radiator out as well as get them back in. Use a couple bungee cords wrapped around the harnesses and you can pin them out of the way while you do your work. I was worried i might damage the new radiator trying to get it in and this helped out a lot.

Also, don't forget the ground wire that comes with the rad! (or at least one came with the Genesis). It keeps electrolysis from eating away that nice aluminum.

Chad, just run a wire from anywhere on the radiator (the top has a couple of nice places) to a chassis ground point.

Electrolysis is an electrolytic reaction that happens (especially on Taurus' for some reason) that causes aluminum cooling system parts to oxidize and corrode from the inside out. I knew of a guy up in MA who had it really bad in his Gen 3, he was eating up radiators and heater cores like they were Oreo's before he installed a super ground system to get a handle on things.

This, what he said...definitely so...Mine did come with and its yellow wiring that was readily tied in a loop on top slot of radiator.

You got one of the two that were left and by the time I got there they were all gone. I ended up getting one from GPI on ebay and it's sitting here now. It came with the transmission cooler fittings which of course I do not need, but no ground wire. I'll make my own. I have a piece of good amp ground wire around, and some solder for the fitting.

Will get pics
