You wouldn't want to suck liquid water into the engine, but it was a vapor before the catch can condensed it out. That tiny amount of water vapor (without a catch can) wouldn't hurt anything.

The "chocolate milk" is the oil layer. It's actually an oil and water 'emulsion'. Just like when someone blows a headgasket and their oil looks milky. The 'beer' is just dirty water.
I have a jet boat that's cooled by lake water without a thermostat. I've drained outboard lower units that have been neglected for years. I've seen more than my fair share of milky oil, and it's never looked remotely close to that. Much more gray. Maybe it's a conventional vs synthetic thing. Either way, it shouldn't be "emulsified" from sitting in a catch can. I just think there's something not right with this picture. Don't know what though.

I’m not sure why, previously vapor or not, you’d want that sucked into the combustion chamber.

I get an oil change every 3000 Miles full synthetic and every time I emptied my catch can it's about 1" deep and always black.

Not a Taurus, nor a Ford 6.4l 392 in a Challenger, 6M naturally.

0w-40 is the factory oil.

I was merely giving an example that shows even an N/A port injection engine still collects a fair amount of pcv oil, not just limited to s/c or turbo. Yah know, they actually built N/A SHO engines years ago! ;)

Bringing a mopar to a Ford forum is like eating a wet napkin. I mean you could do it. But why.

I guess you haven't seen what many SHO Owners own, particularly the Gen 1-3 folks. There may be a track, or a clean Sunday SHO in the garage, but most have anything and everything as DDs.

I'm President of the SHO Club, my DD is a 6-speed (as God intended) Scat Pack Challenger. Previous DDs stretching back to 04 are a Legacy GT, mixed in with an F250, Grand Marquis, and the recently deceased, and highly missed, SVT Focus. All while having Gen 1 SHO(s) in the garage. SHO Community, particularly for a bunch of us who have been around for 20-25-30 years, is about the people.

So, so, soooooooo very true.

I learned this during my 1st 6mo.'s of ownership.

10yrs later, I'm still here, still enjoying my SHO ownership, and more importantly still thankful for all the (lasting) friendships created.

I enjoy seeing what others have purchased and/or invested in during that time frame. Needs change. Family dynamics change. ****, life changes.

Thanks Ron for fulfilling the role of National Club President. Your efforts, and others (particularly previous GEN owners to mine) do a wonderful job of keeping the torch lit, and carrying on with various club functions.

Glad to be here.

I've owned many vehicles as well, but I don't post them in the gen 4 sho section.

I used to be a people person until people ruined it for me.

Maybe I'm wrong but I thought the point of the thread was if a catch can was worth it on a sho. At any rate, derail away.

Getting back to the thread topic, I do have a question though for the masses here.....

I am contemplating a catch can set up myself, as part of my rebuild.

1st off, I'm not sure which kit, or which vendor to purchase from?

2nd, since I have the EPP hotpipes, and the front of my motor has the VTA breather on it.....

Which type of kit would be best for mine? I.E. like how many hoses, which hoses would run where, etc.??

Appreciate any help on the subject matter. TIA.

I’m far from an expert on the subject but what I understand the dual valve system is the most effective. I watched a makuloco video about it probably three years ago now explaining the difference.

I believe you can see by my own accumulation as well as SM105K’s they seem to out perform the single style like the shown LMS versions, and complaints of not really catching much.

However, with your early EPP style intake I don’t think you have the bung for the WOT vacuum connection.
