This type of work shouldn't be done with out a manual. Read it before you start otherwise you'll be redoing stuff later on.

zach at work, seen it personally

Small little update. Pistons are now being made. Me and Josh got some numbers correct before we put the order through and now everything is square.

Spent a little time out in the garage getting the subframe ready.

Gen3 subframe Started by pressure washing it with a VERY high pressure pressure washer and a special tip. It cut all the grease off without any chemicals.

Just to be on the safe side I then soaked it in GUNK grease remover.

Then proceeded to paint the whole thing black.

BUT THAT WAS SOOOOO BORING

several questions

1) what was your mph at the end of the qtr when you ran a 13,5 ? I think it was my Sr 72 that I ran once at the drags. Never a big drag guy but I ran low 14's around 102, couldnt get traction but had power and it was gutted with a qauife

2) I have had a lot of motors in my time. Some NA some super charged but the badest motor I had that was NA was a 12-1 compression, stage 2 cam's, ported and polished heads, 3.2 motor, headers, SI race valves, shonut adj sprockets, BBB, extrude honed runners, larger throttle body, 77 mass air, underdrive pullies and even flew ted breaux down to florida to have him tune it at the dyno.

That car did 246 hp at the wheels. To get 300 at the wheels thats a tall feat and would love to know how to do it beyond what I already did. I didnt use race gas that helps, a 3.3 motor would help. My pistons were stock so you get some help there. So what, 260 maybe ?

It was hard to read. An ellipsis "..." is not the same as a period.

I was trapping 106-107mph when I ran 13.5.

untuned, stock internals I made 244whp

Im curious to see how you had stock pistons and 12:1 compression. Its not possible with milling because you would have to tear drop the water jackets and there is simply not enough material there.

for one I should end up with a compression ratio around 13:1. that ALONE would put me over the 260whp mark with no tuning, no changes to my old setup according to the math.
The fuel. The motor will be broke in on a mix of 110 leaded and 93 pump. Just until I get the fuel stuff together to convert to E85. Once I successfully convert to E85, I plan on using FTW purple fuel at the track. Fuel that in it self I have seen 8% power gains over pump E85. It truly is amazing stuff.

Yes 300whp is a tall feat. BUT if the motor makes less than 275whp I will be disappointed. Nobody I know or have read about is doing a build similar to mine.

I have had so many motors they do run together ! I know doug lewis shaved the heads on on of my motors .... it might have been that the motor I am refering to the heads werent shaved and the compression was stock.

Its been a while since I really got into the HP game with a SHO. The 90 I just rebuilt is bone stock less a shosource off road y pipe and a new walker exhaust.

I concur with your motor build, very unique. I know there were some stock blocks bored out to 3.4, but I dont think they lasted long

Best of luck !
