Hey guys,
I bought this 93 ATX just a couple weeks ago with 119k on it, original ATX. I blew out the spark plug wells that were full of oil and changed out the plugs. Put a new ECT sensor in first thing because I was getting a check engine light intermittently and getting bad gas mileage (207mi on whole tank). That didn't work with better gas mileage so I changed out the oxygen sensors today, and decided to do an oil change while I have it up on jacks. After I poured the oil from the pan I used to drain it, there were a couple dozen tiny copper flakes that just kept flashing in my eyes as I looked closely.
Is this normal wear for a car this age? The car was tilted from the front end and the oil drain plug is on the side, which doesn't always get oil from the bottom of the pan.
Also, my car still works and I have about 50 miles on over 7/8ths of a tank, a great improvement so far with no check engine light.
Any thoughts or experience with this?
