Ok, more testing, the ignition ground is in tact, I just wasn't getting good wire ***********. But nothing on my PIP wires. I think I need to verify CPS installation, and see what's up there??

What crank sensor did you install? There was a batch or 2 that required some filing/grinding of the plastic to make it dimensionally operate correctly.

How long ago? Was it running previously with this crank sensor attached?
He just replaced the cps, the cam sensor, the ignition switch, the coil pack, plugs, wires. They were driving, and it just lost spark and died. He worked on it because it lost the spark. I bought it in this state. He done it all in the last couple months!!

The DIS Module is grounded by the bottom two bolts holding it on. Check for continuity between one of those bolts and B-.

I tested the ground like that the other day, and it was good, I also tested my ground strap, and the intake bolts, all good. Does anyone know if there's like a reluctant wheel or something that trips the signal on the cps??

in figure 125, you can see the sprocket has gaps in it that trip the CPS signal

So, is that piece that triggers it built into the sprocket, or is it pressed on?? Also, would it do this if the gap is off??
its part of the sprocket, you can sort of see in this picture. The gap needs to be there so there is enough clearance so it doesn't get destroyed when it rotatesIMG 1888

here is a good source of information, in one of his links (Thanks to itwonder), if you go to the bottom, you can download the SHO engine book (where I got that exploded view of the engine)
the Sho Phoenix project link with the front 60K is where I got the picture of the sprocket

So, I finally got a chance to check my crankshaft positioning sensor. I got my analog meter, and tested on the gray wire in the bis module. The meter rose very slightly, and went back down after,so I figure that's the signal that I am looking for?? Not I guess I should test the signal coming out of the dis, to the coilpack?? I was just wanting to give an update, and get some input. Thanks again in advance!!

I tested at the cps plug, wires 1 and 2. It was my understanding that the signal splits there, one to the dis, and one to the eec. I tested these again with my analog meter and got the needle fluctuations on, must be the dis, and nothing on the other signal wire. It seems to go to the eec. I thought I had read somewhere that I could remove the spout plug to bypass the eec to test this?? Does the eec have to send a signal for coil fire??

So it seems the spout plug is only fir timing advance. I will test more, and see what I can come up with!! Thanks for all the replies so far!!

Thanks for the link, I read something very interesting in there that I have developed a theory around it. But it's still going to evolve getting to the cps to verify. I have to get the front wheel off now, as there is some keyed lug lock in it, and all the removal tools I bought don't fit it. I am going to have to get me a 12 point socket, and beat it on, see if I can get it that way??
