Try and make this short and sweet. I had problems with shaking and shuttering in 3rd gear at low rpm so I got my PTU fluid changed out at dealer, put tune back on car SCT. Now it drives like **** just took the tune off. went to pick up the kids took a right turn pushed down gas loud sucking noise can't tell if it's the BOV but it's really loud wasn't like that before I took it in, and the car won't go!!delayed for 3 seconds then it took off almost ripped my head off. That was in sport mode I tried it in drive did the same thing just not as bad still not normal. I have new plugs T stat and a new MAP sensor in the mail, now I can't put it all in until I find this new loosing power problem. I already moved the knock sensor away from engine so I think it's something else. I was moving the sensor on my air intake before I noticed all this mess and it may of done something. :(

Your symptoms sound consistent with what can happen if there is unmetered air entering the system (ie: a leak after the MAF sensor). Maybe this was the original issue rather than the PTU fluid. You mention that you were moving "the sensor on my air intake" before you noticed all this mess. Which sensor are you referring to, the MAF or the air temp sensor. Well, come to think of it, I'm not positive if our car uses a MAF, I might need to walk out to my car and take a look.... Either way, I'd take a careful look at the intake air tubing to make sure it's all securely connected and not torn, particularly since you were working in that area prior to this issue starting. Make sure the sensor is securely connected as well. And if you have an aftermarket air filter that is the oiled type, you might have coated "the sensor" causing it to register an inaccurate air flow/air temperature.

The sensor is loose not very air tight I have a roush intake it mounts right on top. Not a very good design ...maybe a thin layer of silicone would keep it down ? I'm 90% sure your right after I touched it the problem got really bad ! Actually turned it 90* to see if that would help my original issue. I'm getting my ECU strategy checked right now make sure ford didn't update it without telling me. I'm going to take my intake apart check everything !!! Thanks Rod

Assuming you kept the stock air box and tubing you could reinstall the stock setup and see if the problem goes away.

Remember the PCM relearns each time you flash it, whether to stock or to tuned status. It is most noticeable in the way the car shifts, which will be quite firm, maybe even headsnapping, until it figures out your driving style. Did you successfully reload the tune after the service? That most likely means the PCM strategy was not updated at the dealer, but a good idea to check anyway. If there's a tune & PCM strategy mismatch, likely wouldn't be going anywhere, and have all kinds of bells & noises going off.

I checked both sensors and my intake looks good. Time to play the dealer game ! Yay! Not one drop of oil on either one.

What is the % ford will actually find the problem and fix it ? Hahaha I give them 25% chance. Car is stock again just has CAI...I'm still loosing power but not like I do with the tune on....so I think something is loose air getting in/out from somewhere it shouldn't.

You guys will love this...haha so driving it to Ford only 3 miles from my house I had it in Drive was going about 45mph hit the gas then POP! really loud I thought someone was shooting sounded like a hose came off under pressure or loud back fire! I lost all power then it came back with a loud whistle sound everytime I hit the gas..Not the CAI sucking sound more like a whistle. After the Pop sound I had almost no HP at all. My engine temp didn't go up thank god! What ever was my original problem that led me to getting PTU was not PTU problem at all but what ever this PoP was.....

Dang scary for sure! Always check hoses and clamps when things like this happen. Common for hoses to pop off and split near the clamps.

Runs like a champ ! Thanks guys for all the tips helping me not go insane......check your clamps before you try to fix something else. I like to learn the hard way. Still not sure why that stupid plastic canister hangs off the throttle body only connected with a cheep wire clamp that's what came off. How much air do I need to suck in ? (Hoover vacuum )

Mine was loose resulting in some power surging under power...
A couple strong zip ties and she is good as new!

It's way worse with my tune on had to take it off again just has NO power car won't go like it should. Might have to go to this turbo shop to get a quote then take that to ford I'm about over this.

It was that cone looking piece that is just before the throttle body. Even with thaw metal clip on I could move it around quite a bit, as soon as I locked it down the power comes on smooth and hard as it should. ( unleashed tune)

I put 2 zip ties on it wasn't that, I just drove with the shop foreman at Ford and he felt my shutter loss of power lag when shifts gears. He's going to put my stock air box back on and he said it might be the plugs or coil. I'll let you all know what it is....freakin mess! I've been looking at new mustangs if they can't fix it
