If it's not running right, maybe they think they are working with an SEL not a SHO! Wait till you have a chance to test though ...

Have you taken someone from their service department for a ride with you so you can demonstrate for them the concern? Maybe there is something you are doing to make it happen that they haven't tried yet. Also, they should be able to datalog during a ride-along to see what the various sensors are reporting when the issue happens which might get them closer to resolution.

If they don't have the skills to diagnose your car with no diagnostic codes you shouldn't be afraid to ask them to schedule some time with a FoMoCo field service engineer.

Sorry just woke up long day yesterday , I go to santan ford I live in Gilbert. Car is at the dealership until I get back from this wedding for about 6 days I just left it there and started walking down the street I basically had it ! I rode with the shop foreman and duplicated the problem 10 times for him , he put my stock air box on and said it was fixed even though he said he thinks it's my coils or plugs....that didn't get looked at. well I told them I will bring it back everyday for the next month till its fixed I don't work, thank you Marine Corps ! I had 2 mechanics tell me to look at the plugs and coils and one was the shop foreman so maybe they will fix it ! Let the games begin

Will do when I get back home I'll call them and make an appointment still maybe a miracle they might actually look at my engine with their eye balls and fix it at santan. I called Lincoln they sounded like snobs so I took it back to santan I think I'm on the right track finally.

The common denominator seems to be the plastic noisemaker, which is that plastic cone shaped object mounted near the throttle body. Ford made that to change the way the engine sounds from inside the car. Anyhow, I believe you mentioned that it had come off a couple times, one of which it had actually popped off. It's held on with a simple metal clip, which I find interesting on a turbo car. I found a while back that mine was not on good as well. I didn't have the same issues that you describe, however one day I found a rubber seal laying in the engine compartment next to the noisemaker. I took the noisemaker off and found that the rubber seal was supposed to be in the small tube that connects to the main intake tube going to the throttle body. Maybe yours came out when the noisemaker popped off, and is what's causing your car to feel like it has no power. It's just a guess, but anytime you have some type of leak in a turbo car with speed density, it will cause a rich fuel condition, causing it to feel like all of a sudden power is gone. Running rich won't be too harmful to your engine at first, although your cats and sensors will eventually get coated with soot to the point they no longer work properly.

It's just a guess, but try and have them take a look inside the noisemaker.

Thanks it came off ford put it back on I'll check the seal on the inside when I get the car back. I do know that it wiggles just the smallest bit never really tight bad design ! I put 2 zip ties on to try and get it tighter but didn't really work. Does yours move a little ? Might need a new one.

Yes it does. Looks really flimsy. I'm surprised to see a part like that on a turbo car. But the stock boost levels aren't that high on these cars, so maybe that's why you notice it more with the tune. If it isn't that, there could be another clamp loose somewhere between your CAI and throttle body causing a boost leak.

It's up to ford right now until I get it back I've told them about 5 times to check all my hose clamps ...car is so low and I don't have a lift so its really hard for me to get far into the engine. I'm going to try another dealership if they can't find the problem and if that still doesn't work I'll take the hole thing apart. And check every hose and clamp my self ...,.what ever happened to good mechanics ? Don't they get paid to find problems ? Guess not

Yes, SanTan sucks. I took my marauder there to get the tranny fluid flushed and they disconnected the the AC line instead of the tranny cooler line... Dumbtards.
Sorry for your troubles. I hope you get back up and running soon!

Picked it up today the excuse was I didn't have any gas so they couldn't drive it ??!!! Whatever I just took the whole right side of my engine apart to access the clamps under the air box to the front turbo it was loose about 2 turns with my flathead. Then I tracked down the other turbo area with 2 clamps the top one was loose 4 turns with my wrench. I can't get to the clamp on the bottom rubber part. I need a tool to get down there it's a 5/16 or 8 mm any ideas on what I can use ? My guess is that one is loose as well , and the loud sucking noise and shutter will go away. Santan FORD is the devil never again !!!!!
