Hey all,

Question, did a search here and maybe what I am searching isn't matching. Short preamble, took my OEM TB off for the POS Gigsperformance TB. After having air throttle response issues also seen in my logs, I went to switch back to my OEM. I lost it... Bought direct from Ford a brand new replacement. Fixed throttlebody response.... Done

Since this is more than likely a first gen TB it has this cap covering the butterfly solenoid. Well it pops off, I almost lost it. Back in the early days using HP tuning, in their forums there were people complaining about this issue. No fixes I recall. It wasn't of interest to me since they had 10-13 years, figured it was addressed in my year.

What ideas anyone familiar and possible fix would be appreciated. This A. M. I was searching the interwebs, and was not successful.

Thanks for input.

Just to clarify, the issue is the cap keeps falling off? I would put a couple dabs of RTV on it and snap it on. I would suggest printing a new one but seeing it has an o ring im not sure how well that would work. it doesnt look like it rotates, it looks like its just a protective cap, thin bead of black RTV would make it serviceable but keep it on there....like super glue for car parts.

Thanks for the suggestion, the tuner - Brad - says his newer Mustang EB had its cap blow off, and thinks it has to do with the extra boost that we pressurize the system with. To your point, they probably added some adhesive to my year in '14 since I dont see any others mentioning it. My feeling it might of blown off and they dont know its missing.

So, mine has been off since I purchased it. I look at it and wonder if I should do something, and then I don't.

There doesn't seem to be any downside. I think some people take it off in order to flutter the throttle while under the hood.

Thn Mitch - just got some grey RTV, was thinking of gluing her back.
