Whoa... I never said that all of the CF hoods would have problems.
There is a possibility that the CF hoods will delaminiate though, with or without pins. Anytime you have 2 different materials, CF and Fiberglass in this case, bonded together, there is a risk that they will seperate. Pins are not a magical fix for this problem. I would recommend running them though. I even run them on my lightened factory steel hood.
My point simply was that the Cincy hoods have not had this problem since there is nothing to delaminate because they are 100% fiberglass. Pins are still a good idea though, to prevent the hood from lifting, and the fact that the factory latch can easily destroy the fiberglass where it contacts it.
I will grant you that probably the #1 cause of the problem those CF hoods have had is with installation.
FWIW, I was one of the first people to jump in on the thread you had made regarding the Plus style CF hood for the Gen 2. I would still be interested in purchasing one, should they ever be created.
I'm not hating on the CF hoods, just stating that there have been some problems.
