Hey everyone,

I picked up a 1993 Taurus SHO around January 2025, and I’m trying to track down its history. I have a strong feeling the original owner (or someone who knows the car) is here on SHOforum, because this car definitely seems to have a story behind it.

Car details / history I know so far:

VIN: 1FALP54Y1PA142129

Came from the Alaska/Seattle area originally

Bought it from a guy on Marketplace who flips cars — he gave me a build list but it’s clear he wasn’t the one who built it

He said he built the motor himself (no way)

Claimed to have the original body panels (doesn’t)

Previous owner before him was apparently a big SHO guy with a SHO-swapped Taurus wagon

At one point had coilovers (told they were swapped to the wagon)

Current setup includes:

Carbon fiber hood & trunk

Bored butterflies

3.2 heads

SHOsource cam

Built motor (looks like it may have had a blower at one time)

Video evidence:
I’m almost positive this is the same car that was featured on SHOsource’s YouTube channel:

From what I can tell, it may have even been pictured on their website at some point.

I’d love to get in touch with the original owner or anyone who knows more about the car’s past. It’d be great to fill in the blanks and hear its full story.

Appreciate any help you guys can give!

Quick heads up:

We're actually letting this SHO go. Between all our other projects (mostly VW diesels) we just don't have the time or know-how to sort it out. It runs and drives, but once it warms up it starts to stumble, almost sounds like it has a huge cam, and you have to turn the car off. Let it sit for a bit then start it back up. And the motor has a slight tick. The guy we got it from said it just needs shims, but my dad thinks it might be ECU cold solder joints. Others have suggested the Crown Vic MAF could be the issue.

Also, the shifter needs attention since the stick just spins. We're not sure what all it needs, so rather than dive into it blind, we figured someone here who knows these cars better would be the right person to take it over.

The car in the Shosource video is Matt's 1992 car. (he was one of the Shosource original members) It's not the car you have. Take a look at this post, this should be your car.
