OK second problem i have had with getting spark on my 3.2. A couple nights ago the sho broke down, just quit. No spittering, no sputtering. I checked for spark and had none, ten mins later the car started back up and drove for 2-3 mins and quit again. I let it sit for 10--15 mins and it started back up and ran for another mile and quit. My first thought was the CPS because thats usually the symptoms of coolant leaking on the cps. Well i replaced the cps and still no start, So i replaced the Cam sensor with another one i had and still had no spark. On my last problem with spark i swapped in a new dis which fixed it so i have a new dis. I pulled the codes and got 126,551,556. only one that i noticed really was 556 which is fuel pump relay (ccrm??) but i do have fuel pressure. 39 psi at the rails. What did i do wrong? any advice?

Check for pinched wire harnesses at the bellhousing. Check the coil power wire to make sure the coil is getting powered. Re-check all your grounds.

I don't remember the gap but it is really small and im sure does play a role. Dude I would try a new coil pack next.

Zach, There is a possibility you may have overheated the DIS. Did you apply Heat Sink between the DIS and the Intake?

-Sam

I applied di-electric grease.

Update: I just got back from testing mark nunnalys DIS and it hd mixed results, we tested it about ten times, 3-4 of the times one of the 6 lights did not light up. on the other 6-7 tries it passed with flying colors, But with the new dis on i still had no spark, So im putting the original Cam sensor on the car instead of the spare one which i have no clue is good or not. And if that does not fix it Ill pull the crank pulley off and check the cps again.

The car should start without a cam sensor.
The gap for the crank sensor is .030

Do you have 12 volts at the coil pack? I believe it's a red&green wire.

I replaced the cam sensor and still no go, Im going to pull off the crank pulley and inspect the CPS. im not really sure how you gap a cps but could this cause a no start (obviosly if it sliced off the sensor)....

You put a feeler gauge in the groove of the cps and gap it between the top of the cps and the veins on the crank sprocket. Ive killed a cps with the viens before. I would check voltage at the coil pack and work your way back.

I've just used the smallest part of one of those cheap round spark plug gapping tools to gap the CPS, if you don't have any kind of feeler gauges.

A business card has worked well for me on multiple occasions . Did you check to make sure that the balancer is seated all the way on? If its out 1/4-1/2 inch the car will not get spark.

I have the crank bolt tourqued all the way with a impact wrench, 6$ buys me a feeler gauge so im going to take car of that tomorow, hopefully it fixes the problem. Also I cant seem to work the slack out of my timing belt. I plan on checking out the tensioner a little more but i got all three marks dead on and there is still slack in between the pulleys. Im thinking i need a new belt.
