I have read as much as i could on starting issues on the forum, but i couldnt quite find anything like mine.
First off i had the code 172 then replaced my o2 sensors...then i pulled the codes 172 and 136. I was told it can be fixed by cleaning the MAF or checking for air leaks.

NOW TO the problem. Lately when i go to start it it sounds like the battery is dying/dead. It turns over slow then stops completely. I take the battery cables off and retighten them and it will (with a struggle) start. One time when it started it took the RPM guage about 5 minutes to even work.
Other times it starts fine.

I have new Crank Sensor and new battery so those arent it.

When the tach is not working and the car is running it is usually the cam sensor.
The cam sensor also has an effect on starting as well.
Start by checking the cam sensor, wiring, and for oil leaking past the cam seal.

Thanks...but what do i check for with the Cam Sensor and wires? Also i have replaced my cam seals but i still leak oil and im pretty sure its coming from one of the cam seals probably the 3rd seal ya know the hardest one to get to. If oil leaks onto the cam sensor does that cause it to go bad?

most likely your starter is shorting out.

what happens is that certain parts of the winding short out. depending on where the starter motor is oriented, if you have it on a 'good' winding, it will spin up to speed and start normally, but if you have it on a shorted part, it will draw huge amps and spin slowly. eventually, it will not start the car at all.

this is often caused by the o-ring behind the oil cooler getting hard and leaking, so hot oil trickles on the starter pretty much all the time you are driving the car. eventually, oil finds its way into the starter motor and shorts the windings.

The turning over slowly symptom would have me looking at the battery cables - maybe time for new ones.

Battery cables maybe, I like the idea of the coil wearing out. Either is high resistance in the starting circuit. High resistance = Chew away at your battery faster. :)

Did you go through the wheel well and strut/spring to take the cam sensor off?
Because i found it a lot easier to just take off the power steering mounting nut then i had enough room to put the 1/4 ratchet and socket on the sensor..........just wondering

Multiple ways to attack it, but I remove the end tank on the intake - the one with the DIS mounted on it. Opens up the whole area for easy access to the CID.
