As an update.....Vroom, knock...knock...knock. Just under 1500 miles. I may sell...I may fix. Not sure right now...if I touch it at this point, it probably wouldn't be a good thing. Shame...new suspension and exhaust... Can't say I didn't know it was coming...I just hoped it would last until Julyish...

New engine now has new bearings installed, new timing belt, new water pump, and new seals. Is there a "best" paint for the intake and valve covers? I was going to powder coat them, but I found the color that I want in a 500 degree engine paint. Also, anyone know the best way to fill in the engraved "FORD and SHO" in the plenum? (ie paint them a contrasting color)? I was going to thin some paint and "wash" it in there, then clean the rest off of the plenum... Engine should be up and running this weekend...and pictures are being taken of the swap.

I used the rattle can engine paint on my intake and valve covers, and then after they were "dry" I baked them in the oven for a couple of hours at 250F (when the wife was away...) to cure up the paint. It still chips easily but it holds up if you are careful.

I used the touch-up paint on the lettering - the touch-up paint has a little "pen" type of thing that is just the right size to fit down in the depressions and allow you to "write" the paint in there.
