After getting word from the Injector Experts that I had 2 bad injectors, I ordered a set of 6. They came in last night. I decided to use some SeaFoam to try and clean up what I could in the intake while it was apart. SeaFoam and a brass wire brush did great for cleaning up the passages. Just poured a cup, dipped the brush in, light scrubbing, let it soak while I did another runner, come back with a little harder scrubbing, and wipe it out with a rag. As I was doing that, I noticed a lip from the Throttle Body ****** to the Intake Plenum. I am guessing it is a tolerance when built. The Plenum stuck into the air flow at the top, and at the bottom the ****** dropped off into the Plenum, kind of like it was welded together offset. I decided to smooth the transitions. I got as far in as I could reach with my drill and a sandpaper bit for the Throttle Body ****** to Plenum transition. Then I figured I was there, I might as well smooth out the runners and at least get rid of the ridge where they were joined. Ended up burning through all my sandpaper bits but I think it looks pretty decent and hopefully will help smooth out airflow and give less areas for oil/carbon to build up.

All that to say, I planned to install injectors, went down a totally different path and still need to install my injectors tonight.

I haven't been too impressed with my air conditioning as of late. So I picked up a can of this stuff today and sprayed down the condenser cuz it looked like it might be full of dead bugs and junk.
I would say it improved things greatly. The air coming out of the vents went from Coolish to freeze your boys off in 79° weather.
I think I'm going to move the condenser out of the way as much as possible and spray down the intercooler. My Intercooler is one of the earliest Gearhead units that I got from JordanR.
Then the fans are coming off and I'm spraying down the radiator.

Yeah this is one of those things they don't tell you about all the bugs that pile up in there create a big problem for airflow

I used the rest of the Viper coil cleaner on my radiator and intercooler today. I think it worked, lots of crap came out. I've seen slight improvements in temperatures. It was cooler today it's supposed to be warmer Monday so we'll see what happens on Monday on a trip down the freeway.

Okay it got warmer than they were predicting for today. 80 to 82°.
I'd say the cleaning went extremely well. @ 77° ambient, before cleaning the AC condenser, intercooler and radiator, 187 to 195 degrees Fahrenheit coolant temperature with the AC on @ 71mph. Now with the AC on 184 to 186° f.
Old IAT with AC on 113° this spring. Now 107° with AC on, temperature of 91° F with AC off. So 10° above ambient.

I read this, went and looked at my condenser, and immediately ordered a can haha. Was one enough to get the IC/radiator too, or did you use more?

That was just one can worth. Sprayed leave 20 minutes wash it out. This one is simply an aluminum safe strong detergent. There are similar ones that can actually dissolve and eat bugs and plant fluff, yet aluminum safe. Be careful When selecting the correct cleaning agent. I know it doesn't look like it but aluminum is a very reactive metal. A lot of things can corrode it.

Yes it can. On a side note my neighbor just had to replace their 5 year old AC unit for the house. Funny if you have a male dog and they pizz on it over time the urine will eat it up.

Finally got new injectors in. I had bought a used XDI-35 and upon installation had tons of fueling issues. Turns out 2 injectors were bad according to the shop I took them in to be cleaned at. I bought a set from RockAuto and then ended up fixing a couple of other items while I had the intake off. The worst part of the whole job is getting the fuel rails/injectors in and out. VERY tight fit. I drove the car a little bit Sunday and to work today. Going to run a tank of fuel through it and then get datalogs to my tuner and hopefully get it dialed in. After this, about all I have left is Meth (much needed after seeing how dirty my intake/valves are) or to swap turbos.

Snake oil in a can... with a snake logo... and it works... interesting.

Right on. Yeah I saw a product like that for dissolving the foreign materials when searching for this, but I didn’t trust it lol. I have a fin brush and straightener comb I’m going to hit it with before spraying. That should do the trick.

Did the third drain and fill today. Jacked up the rear as well while it was draining just for *****, and got a little more out than usual. Only put 6 back in, and it looks good on the dipstick, and it’s driving fine, so maybe I was a bit over-overfilled previously. Found the usual glitter and dirt in the drain pan, but saw these chunks this time. Wondering if this is within “normal” ranges given the fact that when I did my first drain and fill the fluid was clearly old, and most likely the original…(maybe they’ve been in there and jacking up the rear just let them flow out this time) or is it time to take it in to ford and see if it’s about time for a new one (still under warranty)?

Yessir. I know some is normal from wear and tear, especially the flakes, and “dirt”, but I wasn’t sure about these chunks. Probably hard to gauge correctly from the picture, but they aren’t big chunks per se, and there wasn’t a lot, maybe a couple more than what was in the pic. Just not sure at what point size wise it moves from normal wear and tear to “time to have it looked at”. Could also just be stuff being “flushed out” due to cycling the fluid and I’m being paranoid lol

Finally figured out my overheating issue which would occur randomly on hot days. Long story short 2010MY have a different fan plug than 2013+ MY. Took a lot of digging with little to no info online. Basically there's no aftermarket companies that make the correct fan assembly (two fans not just one) w/ the correct plug. All the aftermarket ones are single fans which are crap & have the fan motor relay originated incorrectly. Ford dealer wants $1,800.00 for the fan assembly which is the highest I've ever seen for any car. Even Tasca & Rockauto have OEM ones listed at $1,200.00... Sourced a used one through eBay for $180.00.
What a pain just to replace a fan. Somehow managed to remove the fan assembly without removing the top coolant hose.

Correct OEM fan on the left and to the right the crap aftermarket one w/ fan relay zip tied from the original location just to reach the plug.

Also found a broken t-fitting which was for my BOV... Never using plastic fittings again.
