So I am taking my rod bearings apart and the one closest to the rear of engine was completely destroyed, meaning nothing was left of it(all in oil pan)
The journal and crank don't seem to be bad. The rod bearing in front of engine was fine. Has anybody encountered this before. These car is 92mtx with 134000/rod bearings were done at 60000.
When I grabbed a hold of journal to unbolt from crank there was alot of movement......
I really want to put new bearings in, is it worth it? This car is in great shape otherwise, do not want to junk it!

As long as the crank is fine simply replace the rod bearings. Of course it's worth the $70 or so.

Is there any evidence of bluing (over heating) in the metal at the big end of the rod with the destroyed bearing? If I were you, I'd bolt up and torque that rod cap and check the roundness with a bore mic. If there is any damage or out-of-roundness to the rod bore, you'll put it together and it will be toast in less then 10 miles.

If it spit a bearing out, you MUST measure the "big end" of the connecting rod.
