Is there any way to tell if the bearings are on there way out or if you actually spun one? I don't want to tear the bottom of the motor off just to find out it'll cost more to fix mine than buy another motor. Tnaks in advance :hail: .

Alll you have to remove is the y-pipe, starter, and oil pan to inspecs them.
AND they are cheap.

Just do it.

If you find that the crank is scored, pull the motor and use the fresh rod bearings on the new motor.

That's what I was thinking to. I found an 89 that doesn't have a fly wheel for 800 but I bet I can get it for 600. If my crank is jacked just pull the one out of that and have a parts car?
