Well, it took me 2 days but i finally finished my rod bearings replacement. Wow, am i glad i did it when i did! Those old bearings were very worn, the tops were all showing a half inch of copper and the bottoms were pretty worn too. I also noticed how much quieter and seemingly smother my engine feels. No more anoying tapping noise as i accelerate. I just wanted to thank all the members who's posts convinced me to do this job, and for all the help you guys gave me in doing it. thumb

One other thing, do my new bearings need a "break in" period or can i give it some gas like i am dying to do????

I second that, I don't know why all the people here say you do not need to break in rod bearings. They are a wear item, of course you need to break them in. You do realize the coating on the copper of bearings is very soft metal and is used to prevent the crank from getting damaged... it also hold in metal particals to do that properly.
