Lack of ENOUGH ring end gap under boost and heat makes ring gaps meet and then ring expands even more popping the piston ring lands. I bought my ball hone off flea bay.

ah yeah that makes sense, wasn’t sure if my tune contributed or not. you think i can get away with just a flex hone? cyl wall damage is about the same as bearing damage, very shallow nicks running down the bore.

None others. I see the #4 piston is super common.

do you by chance have the part number for the number 6 camshaft cap bolt? lost the longer one, on bank 2 intake cam. bolt closest to front of car. can’t find anything on ford parts and my service manual is outdated.

It's the computer at the local ford dealer parts counter. They usually have better diagrams and ability to find that stuff with part numbers and often dimensions. If it is a readily available part in the supply chain they probably won't give you shop it around info as they consider themselves sales and not info employees. However, if they are difficult to obtain I have found they will share helpful info as it does not effect ability to sell at that point. That is the first place I would start looking. If you find a good parts person treat that like a good dentist or mechanic. Throw them some business every now and then even if it costs you a few extra $. Crappy parts people are easy to find. Ones that will really take the time to dig and help are worth supporting with business. Just an old timer's $.02

DI without extra external injectors are gnarly.
I can't even make out the valve in that pic. Are you taking the valves out or leaving them in the head? If not removing, how accessable are they to getting an abrasive tool on them without hitting seals?

didn’t plan on removing them, how involved is the process? i will if it’s worth it, however the rear bank wont be getting cleaned.
