Last week I stripped the engine I planned on rebuilding for my 3.2 MTX SHOble. It didnt go as well as I had hoped. #4 bearing failed bad and #3 failed but not nearly as bad. The engine had even compression across the board and ran strong for other than the knock when I first got it. When I tore it down this is what I found....

nominated for worst failure ever.

Hardly man. Had one from a customer's car who tried to do 140mph in 4th with a spun bearing. Wasn't pretty, bearing was razor-thin & black, squeezed out around the rod cap. Have pics somewhere.

If you guys think this one is bad, wait till you see my sable. It had a knock 10x worse than the SHO. I gave it the redline treatment for a few minutes with no coolant left in the system then an Un-metered shot of nitrous (open line) right into the intake. All on video too.

Another reason for everyone who is on this board to get their rod bearings changed.
