I'm going to be puting in my new oil pump this weekend, and was wondering if there was any sort of break in procedure. Or is it just, take it easy for a while...

What kind of oil should I use....Castrol GTX 10w-30?
How tight should the crankshaft pulley be (in ft lbs)?
Any thing I need to know about putting in the new pump? (the old one is already out)

Did your oil pump fail? That doesn't seem like a common failure. And how did you determine it was bad before it ruined the motor? Just curious.

Castrol 10W-30 is great stuff. The torque on the crankshaft damper bolt is 113-126 lb-ft.

Yeah, the pump was bad. When I took it out you could see the wear(scratches/ scrapes). I could probably put up some pictures if you want.

The oil pressure light came on a few times durring idle. So I got worried and bought a $30 oil pressure gauge and hooked it up. Then I could see what the actual press. was. It was about 6psi at idle (warmed up) and it was getting worse.

So I stoped driving it so that nothing else would get messed up untill I could put in the new pump.

Thanks Scott!!
