Sometime in the very near future I plan on buying and installing Flowmaster 50 Series Deltas in my SHO. Is there anything that I should know about, like measurements, or does anybody have any warnings or bad experiences with them. And input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot.

:D IMHO, you may want to go with the 40 series street/strip. A much throatier growl. The Deltaflows are much quieter. Of course, that's fine if that's the sound you're going for! (My wife and I LOVE the 40s we have on our '97.) Also, have the shop cut the resonator off. This will help the car sound meatier. oh_my

They are offset offset, and 2 1/4 in and out. I would recommend 40 or 50 series original not delta. The 50's are more for muscle cars but it would give it a louder sound if that is what you are looking for.

Anybody tried Borla? I have been strongly advised by many people not to use Flows because they don't last very long.I have researched Borlas and they are right around the same price as the Flows, and they are higher quality...anybody agreee with this?

Ok it is settled. I just purchased a brand new set of Borla Performance Turbo Mufflers. Offset/offset, 2.25" diameter inlet/outlet. $86 for each of them, not including shipping prices. I am pretty stoked! Thanks alot for everybody's input.

What exactly is the resonator?? Is it just another muffler? Also would this void any warranties?

third cat....chop it out and put a pipe in....gives a much nicer sound and fress up a little in the exhaust as well. FWIW, I think Borlas is a bit more than flowmaster. Kirk has 40 series flows and they are nicely broken in....sound is AWESOME!

BTW - your car is black, not ebony satin. ebony satin was a 96/97 year color only wink

"Also would this void any warranties?"

Yes, it most certainly will void the Ford Extended Service Plan warranty, unless you have a =very= friendly dealer. I do not know about other warranties, but in general, if you start removing the pollution control gear, which the third cat is, you will break the warranty and are very possibly breaking the local and federal law as well.

I love my borlas, they are a high quality stainless steel muffler. They sound awesome at high rpms. Remove the resonator, third cat, 1inch bends right at the front of the muffler and get the shop to also open up your tips. You'll love it. I have some inside car video that I'll post later. (so you can determine if it is too loud inside) I'll try and grab some outside car video too.

By open up the tips do you mean have them take the OEM tips off and widen them to put over the Borlas, or have the tips that come with the Borlas widened to look stock?
