you can wire them open or delete them. If you wire them open you will have to remove the cable from the IMRC box that is on the front valve cover. What I did was remove the box. I pulled the Cable to open the secondaries and then i bolted the cable down to one of the coil packs. Eventually I ended up deleting the secondaries. If they dont open up at or around 3400 RPM the Top end suffers badly. Makes a big difference.

If you are going to either wire them open or delete them then I would suggest getting a Tune From Paul Nimz(SHOZ123) And tell him you either deleted them or wired them open and he will adjust the tune accordingly.

thank you. i did wire them open, seemed to make a little difference in 0-60. running a solid 8 sec at normal temp. about half sec faster.
i will check into the tuner. whats a tuner from SHOZ123 run cost wise ? will it make a big difference? i use to sell tuners and never had much luck with the gas engine tuners, diesel now thats a diff story, i have been amazed at the diff those made. thanks again

You'd be amazed at how much more you will love the car.

Mine can still chirp second at times with the 18's on.

PM him and ask. He's a very nice guy.

Ian's car comes to mind, was Porter's in the 14's also?

Yup, I ran 14.9 with just a K&N drop in air filter and the rear seat removed (-55 lbs). With a couple of more mods I ran 14.8. With the new engine I ran 15.0 this spring with a nearly full tank of old gas. With less of a fuel load and a cooler day it would be in the 14's for sure.

And for what it's worth, my car was a couple of tenths slower than Scott at the Kalamazoo convention drag day once he figured out the launch. I believe I ran 15.3-15.4 most of that day and it was hot and humid. I was running faster than a lot of V6 MTX cars too. I could see the car being 3-5 tenths quicker with an MTX and a skilled driver.

has anyone ran into a squeek from the right front thats not brake or bearing related? strut maybe? just squeeks when its rolling, but stops when u hit or push
the breaks even slightly.
and its not the breaks for sure, or the bearing, or the half shaft, they have all been replaced.
its coming from the right front, and squeeks with rotation, but it dont do it when front is up on jackstands in the air and in gear with wheels rollin so i cant find it??? its drove me nuts for 3 years, is it the strut? is there any fix or just replace? never had to replace any before and this eng/trans assy has been out 3 times so struts have been flopped around a lot. thanks for any info

I chased a squeak like that a few years ago and the only thing that would make it go away was new rotors. The old ones were fine but swapping on new rotors made the squeaking go away. I've got the same problem right now. It's coming from the rear because if I put the parking brake on slightly it goes away.

Welcome, a larger transmission cooler is cheap insurance, id look into it.

If you'd like to sell parts, there is a classified section where you can make an ad for 20 dollars, which goes to keeping this community up and running.

It was an inside joke, Ian is a friend of mine.

For your squeaking issue, have you ever checked to make sure the dust shield (pie tin) isn't contacting one of the rotors? They're pretty easy to bend, I've had it happen a couple times when doing brakes.
