97 SHO still runs

Hello all,
Not seeing a lot here for my generation. 1997 first year with the v8 cams welded. My daughter wants it. But it has a bad strut. Considering rebuilding the strut my self. I have done similar work. May have to make a few pcs. Like strut piston. Drain it cut it open rebuild reweld and repressurize. What do you think?

I daily drive a cam welded 97. Makes those times when I drive my manual cars all the more fun.

Doing what you are suggesting seems like a lot of work when you can pick up replacement struts pretty cheaply.

I have a set of fronts I can give you. A friend stripped a '96 and gave me the front subframe for my '91. So I have a set of stock fronts complete with springs and mounts. I live in Connecticut.
