I ordered an SCT tuner Monday, and will get the GH tune for auto octane just to get started. It will be my go-to tune when traveling and octane is questionable.
Next, I would like to order the catch can and tune(s) from Brad for 93 octane. I have new plugs and the K&N drop-in as well as the three bar.
Talk to Brad, pretty sure he has an auto octane tune. Might as well see what he has to say.
Questions:
Where is the best place to buy the catch can?
I was lucky enough to purchase a used billet one for a smoking deal. However IF I was to purchase new....I would give Lee from Ortiz Tuning a message....He quoted me the a lower price then anyone.

You can also buy direct from UPR.

Some people will say catch cans on the SHO are not needed, I don't agree. I drain mine every 3000 miles (when I change my oil) and crap always come out.
When data-logging for Brad, did you ever experience any of the disconcerting issues spelled out on this thread for the v11?
Never, I have never even had a hiccup with tuning with Brad. I went 2 bar 91, 3 bar 91, and now I have 5 revisions of an e30 tune. Literally mild to wild.
I'm thinking I would get my best data log climbing a ramp to a freeway where the speed limit is 70mph. Does that sound do-able?
I would just go out later, and find a good flat half mile road. Drive it a couple of times, start the log, and let it eat. That is what I would do. I would stay away from inclines because you are putting the car under non normal loads.
Do you have a factory fuel pump?
My fuel system is completely stock. The way Brad tunes (even with my wild E30 tune) my fuel pressure stays stable and we both agree it never enters in danger zone.

In reply #10, Brad talks about my tune in a bit more detail.
Since we are in very different climates, I'm aware that the cold in Northern Ohio may add a variable that I will have to deal with.
It being bitter cold will probably affect your fuel pressures more then mine. When it comes down to it, my car will get a HPFP down the road. So yeah.....
Thanks for your help.
No problem. I am in a position that I can experiment with my SHO and literally see what each mods does with dyno numbers and track numbers.
