It's faster than my old 70 Coronet RT 440 six-pack: no adaptive cruise, no heated, cooled, massaging front seats, no air conditioning, etc., dangerous over 90mph, and, get this, 4 1/2 miles per gallon!

Ha! My dad had a super bee with the 440 six pack... I wanna say 68? Although his ticked off a 10.8x in the 1/4 on some worn out slicks.

And yes, he said over 100mph the car was deadly.

Not to get off original topic but i happen to love my Mopars.. This is my original 440 6bbl lift off hood car.. Restored 25 years ago.. I run it in the F.A.S.T. class it runs 11.60's to 12.0's depending on the air and track conditions.. No slicks old red lines..

For those keeping count, you can add me to the list of LMS users have V11 shift issues. It is intermittent... maybe temperature related, since it shifted fine (hard) when first installed in May 2018. Then one day a few months ago it refused to shift 1-2 until I let off. I reverted back to stock, and the car shifted fine. Put the tune back in and it shifted fine again. But, I've had the same 1-2 shift problem several times since then.

After reading the various threads on this issue, I am concerned and disappointed. I went with LMS to be "safe". I really don't want to invest another $1600 for something I don't NEED. I don't track my car, and seldom find myself lined up next to a Porsche at a stop light. I just wanted the ability to get the most out of my SHO when I wanted to. After experiencing a tuned SHO I really don't want to go back to stock, but I also don't want to hurt my engine.

I am not requesting the V14/V15 tune until i see substantial evidence that this will resolve the shift problems. I will probably go back to stock until then.
The 1-2 shift issue has nothing to do with this issue at all, the 1-2 shift issue is because of loss of traction between those gears the vehicle senses slippage and will not allow itself to shift for safety reasons, turning traction control off and adding about a pint of trans fluid fixes this issue, i have tested this on my own vehicle and have never experienced this problem with the v11 93 oct tune. The only other way to prevent this issue is for us to pull power out and make the car slower so that it does not lose traction but normally people who are having this issue are leaving traction control on

Yeah but 11's in a full weight SHO is pretty damn cool. If I want to go fast, I will built a old B body with a turbo LS set up....

10.8 was very good. Mine was basically stock and could not break 12's. Fun to drive, and my wife could take it for groceries with the hemi torqueflite.

Be said by the time he ran that it never needed an oil change... it burned soo much oil he just dumped a quart in every few fill ups for gas lol..

Is this pretty standard in NonPP versions? Even with the traction control off as much as the NonPP will allow is it a common occurrence or is it only with traction control on for both versions?

OK, so exactly at what point is it breaking traction....top of 1st gear...and just before the shift that doesn't happen? If wheelspin is relatively minor at launch and traction is gained as the car accelerates, why would there be wheelspin just at the shift point?

How much stronger are the 2013+ models with the V11 than the 2010 models with the 4X+ race tune? They must be a LOT faster if they are breaking traction at the top of 1st gear. My 2010 MKS ran 12.6 and most certainly wouldn't break traction except a few feet at launch and a chirp at the 1-2 shift....after the shift took place.

I haven't had a chance to update my car yet, my tuner is updated but I'm waiting until the weekend when I can test the car without getting stranded going to or from work. On the V11 tune that is giving me trouble, this morning I had the car break traction at the top of 1'st gear but shift just fine into second. This was not at WOT and this was due to rain. I think more is involved here.

It is not just at the shift point that it occurs just because you cannot hear the tires screaming does not mean that you do not have any wheelspin, generally i can break the tires loose very aggressively if i launch from 2500 rpms, i had this issue one time a long time ago and immediately added a pint of trans fluid and made sure to turn traction control off and have never experienced an issue since, this is the fix that we recommend and have tested and it has made a huge difference

This was the statement that had me a bit baffled. "loss of traction between those gears" sounded like you were talking about wheelspin during the shift. Yes, an aggressive launch at 2500 RPM will break the tires loose. Having them still spinning on dry clean pavement at the shift point between 40 and 45 MPH (6300 RPM) is what I thought you meant.

Sorry, but that reply is BS. I'm now driving my new Gearhead Auto Octane tune after giving up on the V11. Yesterday, my car, the same car with multiple v11 issues, hit second hard, broke the wheels loose, and kept pulling hard. Then it followed with a perfect 2-3 shift at 6000 rpm. ZERO issues of any kind with GH.

So what im seeing here is that your tune shifts at 6000 on that tune not 6300 like ours? If im correct i believe you requested a tune that shifts earlier for you after saying our last update pretty much solved all of your drivability issues besides fuel pressure which is why you requested earlier shifts which we did for you and then you did not want to give it a try

My personal opinion.....

It seems that whatever GH has done, it has made Shoblock a happier customer. We can get into tuning details however it seems that there is something wrong with V11. I don't believe it is just a few isolated cases. Numerous people have the same issues in common (V11) and are returning their cars back to stock because of concerns. I have seen the dangerous fuel pressure levels on the V11 logs posted here. I personally don't believe throwing a Firestorm HPFP is the end all be all for 90% of SHO customers. Many are willing to keep working with you, and some aren't.

I have no doubt you will fix the issues.

The third v11 tune entitled 'shift' began turning the tach needle red on the 2-3 shift. The needle bounced above and below 6000 rpm and took and held the high rpm for 2-3 seconds before finally shifting slowly into 3rd. Too much risk to my car. I gave up, went back to stock, then ordered the GH tune.
