Oh, blaming it on the elevation now :p
J/K see theres one of the differences why I posted what I posted. Here in lower elevation we do not feel these ill effects at 10+ psi
I meant charge cooling... cooling the intake. If you open track the car, you'll need both charge cooling and overall cooling. Oil cooling is not a bad idea either. Even though Pat is running 15psi, it is more like 12-13psi here. Spending 30 minutes above 5k rpm calls for adequate cooling.... For the street, you're right.

I plan on tracking the car, so I will have charge cooling, larger radiator, and oil cooling.

What number did you use to order your parts? I tried contacting them today to order parts and got machines on both numbers I used. I'm not available to be called back.

Also, there's a company that's called Reichard Racing that offers a slip free pulley for vortech S/C's in 6 rib models. Worth looking into

Do you mean this pulley?

You mind sharing information on the pulley?

It's a pretty well machined pulley, with slots and extra long lip. 6 rib for Vortech. This thing looks like it's going to grip like crazy untill the belt flies apart!. At least you do not have to tighten the belt like crazy to get good grip.

This one was 150$ from Reichard Racing.

That's an expensive pulley, I may try and do my own grooves...

Not a bad idea. I was just sick of having to tighten the belt to oblivion to get grip. Not good for the bearings. With slots, I don't think you will have to tighten the belt half as much. I like the long lip as well.
I'm sure it will evetually chew up the belt, but no sooner than you normally have to replace it from having it so tight.

Are you using a Gatorback? A Gatorback should work really well with that. Even better is that the Gatorback has a lifetime warranty, who cares if it is chewed up. As long as you can provide the worn/broken belt, they'll replace it! I'll see if I can make my own grooves and see how it works out... If it does not work like I hope, I'll break down and spend the money on the really expensive one.

Thanks!

EDIT: What size pulley is that? How much boost are you running?

Yea, I'm using a gatorback for sure.
Here is an interested thread on a Ford forum about it. This guy raves about it.

Thanks for the link! I really like the idea behind the pulley. I'd rather do that than wear all my bearings faster to include mains because tightening the crap out of the belt. We'll see if I bite the bullet....

Where did you buy yours?
