Hey SHO peeps,

I am desperately in need of help to figure out the no start. I installed new walbro fuel pump and took f-22 raptor's advice by doing the FP test procedure . I did measure the voltage on IRCM pin 5 N' 10 which BOTH net 8.0v that goes same for fuel interia switch. Done that while grounded the FP from ecc test connector. I checked for the spark also from dis coil, found it gave out good blueish sparks. I have tried every menthods, from checking the timing belt whether it lined up, which it does, to spraying start fluid in TB to no avail!
One thing I noticed was that the fuel pressure was stronger when I grounded the FP terminal on ecc test connector rather than just key on alone, what gives? bad ground? where? etc ugh! Hope u guys out there can help me sort it out. Thanks...

OMG the memories you just brought back.

First off, is the fuel pump all you did to the car? If not give us specifics on what was done.

Was the car running fine prior to the work? (with the exception possibly of the fuel pump which you replaced.)

When you replaced the pump are you sure everything was wired back up correctly? Does the pump prime for several seconds when you turn the key to run?

Is your CE light on when you turn the key to on?

I apologize! Bizzy, I hope that quote above was in positive attidute, ha lol. ok here the input.

I acquired the 89' titanum for $125 with 112k mile, one owner and He claim that clutch start to slip and tranny was kinda grinding... he stopped using it, parked the car for 6 mos and said that he start up the car once in while until the fuel pump quit. then he yanked the battery out and that why couldn't pull any codes off it. I havent got it to start once yet... I had a friend to listen for FP and said no sound at all. I am comfortable with my mechanical knowledge to do those tasks So I dropped the tank and replaced it with walbro 190 lph from midwest sho,I followed the positive marking on FP while I am at it I added new fram fuel filter via hi pressure FI rubber hose that i replaced the plastic one as thy were so fragile. Hooked up back same way it was.

The new FP runs, but in strange way sometime it will create strong pressure...then other time, it barely spit out fuel unless I grounded the FP on ecc test connector. That make pressure strong everytime...got sparks but still no start!

I remember noticing that there was one isloated wiring sprouting off from a harness with rubber insulator elbow unhooked and I dont recall unhooking that one at all, couldnt figure where to hook it up.

Yes Bizzy, the CE light is on when key is turn to on.

The sho attracted mouse and squirrell to hibernate in the humble yamaha. since I found a lot of material were built for nest from the interior such as sound deadner N' whatnots inside valley beneath the intake runners. I shudder at thought of wiring being gnawed at? is it a possibility?

One last thing, I do understand the meaning of prime, BUT how do I know/tell if it is priming?
Many thanks!
