Hi, I'm looking to pull a 95 ATX SHO engine. One of the pulling points is easy to find, right there on the front, but I know there's got to be another point to chain too.

Ya'll obviously got to know this, I'm somewhat new to the SHO.

Thanks!

The other factory engine lifting eye came from Yamaha to Ford located on the right rear of the engine. Ford removed it for unconfirmed reasons during engine install. Personally, I think that it was either removed because it was not accounted for in crash test data/had a negative impact on crash testing or it just made installing the engine more difficult. I think the engine was installed on the subframe and then it was lifted up into the car from underneath. I can imagine the engine lift eye getting in the way back there.

I think most of us just wrap a tow strap around the exhaust manifolds with the intake manifold removed.

you will need to install the one for the rear - it should be connected to the exhaust manifold studs. do not connect it to the studs for the coolant system 'spider'. I have also used the bolt into the head that the intake manifold connects to (on the rear, not the top) but that is higher risk since its not very large diameter.

Hmm, appreciate the help! I'm waiting for my book to come in to help with the subframe removal.

I just removed an engine myself and I used the bolt for the intake bracket. I removed the intake first and then used the bolt. It worked fine.

Do the ATX's have the theaded hole on the back driverside head? The one Josh talks about in his clutch video? that is the one I always use.
